I don't know about you all, but I am really frustrated in so many aspects of this new feature, that I'm probably going to give up and wait for other more dedicated players to figure it out and glean knowledge from them in a few months.

1/ I'm getting writs for special contracts to areas where I don't have access. Another poorly disguised blackmail from ESO to buy their DLCs. Perhaps I'll save them up and pay for 1 month of subscription a few months down the road and do them all at once.

2/ Finding the mats and items is already being discussed and the difficulty of collecting them and finding them..But even when you DO get them, just try to place them in your house!!! The editor is worded in such ways as it is totally unclear. I just want it to put the bush on the ground, but somehow, without minute manipulations, it is up about 5 feet from the ground and no clear way to just let it down to the ground. I mean, why would I want it anywhere but coming out of the ground and not the open air? Makes no sense. And I can't put something, like the banners, on the wall... I can't direct them to any order, they just sit there sticking through the wall or in midair, or turned in such a way you can't see them. No the "align" button doesn't work... it seems to make it disappear. Honestly, this needs to be worked on.

Just use the numbered icons to move the item around, don't try and use the circular grid or the align button. If an item disappears completely then use the option to return it to your inventory and then try placing it again. It would certainly help, however, if the floor and walls were solid and couldn't be penetrated by the furnishings.

Thanks. I have tried that, just using the numbers to move them, but they quite honestly move them in directions that do little or nothing for placing them. And if i put them back in inventory, they come back out the same way I put them in.

It is all very awkwardly done and should be much more efficient and easy to put a plant on the ground?

I guess wait for an Add on? LOL. Because ESO sucks at this!

I tried to put a picture on the wall and it just floats mid air next to the wall. I couldn't figure out how to get it actually on the wall.

You can sell writs you cannot do (for example, I am not 9 traits in everything yet), they are sold pretty good.

This is a contract, so it gets put automatically into my Quest journal. Is there a way to accept them but not put them in action?

I can't help much on the writ questions, but for the housing editor... it sounds like you just need to play with it a bit to get the hang of it.

When you're in place mode, you can move around too. Most furniture placement is done by walking around and turning your camera (so it's a good idea to switch to first-person mode before you go into the editor.. at least, I find it a lot easier, especially when dealing with smaller items).

Once you get the hang of the editor, it's pretty intuitive to place things on the ground. To do so, select the item you want to place so you're holding it in front of you, turn on the "snap to surface" option (or whatever it's called. XD I think it's mapped to "T" in the editor, iirc), and look down at the spot you want to place it. It should snap to the ground so that it's placed on the ground.

If it floats for some reason (it can do this if the ground is uneven), you then turn off the "snap to surface" and roll your camera slightly downwards to sink the object into the ground a bit.

It sounds like a lot... but I promise it starts to make sense once you've gotten a feel for the decorating system. In the meantime, feel free to keep asking questions here! Some of us have spent a good month playing with this on the PTS, so we can give you some pointers until you get it.

One tip? Go to your keybindings and pick something for "Toggle Walk." It's a lot easier to fine-tune where you're placing things if you can walk instead of lumbering around at a run.

For this one, it sounds like you need to turn off the "snap to surface" option. It's usually pretty good for things like placing items on floors or tables, but it sometimes detects non-flat surfaces a but oddly.

Then, select the picture, switch your toon to walk mode (see? I said it would come in handy ) and move slowly forward toward the wall. That will move the painting toward the wall. When it starts sinking into the wall, you can take a walking step back, and it should be good with a bit of fine-tuning.

Like I said, feel free to ask questions! This is a complex, new thing, so there's nothing wrong with being confused and a little intimidated by it!
