You need to be 160+ cp or have lvl 50 clothing and all points in 1st passive there, so ancestor silk will spawn for you

it grows everywhere, look for this and spend you skill points into the passive to see it from greater distance ("keen eye" in crafting - leatherworking skill line)

If I spend on that skill, will I also be able to max out on woodworking and enchanting together with my normal combat skillset?

Yup! Even without getting into PVP there are over 300 skill points you can get in the game which is more than enough to max all crafting passives on one character and have lots left over for combat skills.

Assuming a CP160 or better character. You will need to spend 30 Skill Points (50 if you include Enchanting and Alchemy) to farm CP160 stuff exclusively. But, even at 50/50 (no material passives) you can farm enough mats on your CP160 character to get what you need for gear that you can send to a crafter to make stuff for you.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

a tip...farm the silk in the base Tamriel areas (non DLC, no craglorn) So for example stormhaven, the rift, greenshade, etc. You have a chance to get Aertherial Dust which is worth a nice amount of gold....plus you'll get Nestor riled up if you post about it here :)

However, in Craglorn, you can get Nirncrux, so Craglorn is around equal to everywhere else in terms of overall revenue.

Why don't you just talk to wonderful ancestor who's name is silk. Try to coerce it.

    Coercer's are a cool.. thing.

If you remember where you farmed lower tier light clothing mats, it will spawn in the same spots. They change depending on your Clothing skill level / Character level.
