Levelling in Cyrodiil?

Hey all! I have a level 17 nightblade, and am finding levelling to be painfully slow, although I enjoy pvp. Is it viable to level to 50 in cyrodiil?

1-50 leveling in Cryo will help you learn the mechanics to PVP without getting face-rolled in the other campaigns. If you are on PC/NA you will want to be in Blackwater Blade (BwB). The BwB campaign is suppose to be a good environment where new players can learn to PVP without going against veterans and become discouraged from the player skill gap.

As a nightblade you can take advantage of the scouting mission board for experience . With the right buffs you move fast and stay cloaked finishing these missions quickly .

Stay in the big battles . Defending castles , keeps and forts is much better XP as the battles tend to be larger . If you devote time to siege and repair walls and other siege you will gather AP faster too .

Try not to follow zergs on the offensive . Those attacks don't always lead to a objective capture but more or less just mindless fights where the defenders get the Dtic .

Missions and quests inside Cyrodiil give good XP but they are really spread out and require a lot of traveling . I avoid those . Instead I like grouping with other Nightblades on resource capture quests .

Yes, it is much faster than it used to be. At launch it took me around 6 months. Now you can reach level 50 in a week or two of just playing normally in PVP, without spending any time grinding.

If you do some of the quests in the towns, you can level perhaps a bit faster - these also grant AP and set items/jewelry now.

It's kind of good that your leveling slow in Cyrodiil. A lot of players prefer that PvP campaign as there are no Champ Points and the performance is better. There are a number of players who roll a character, play them until 50, delete them and roll a new one just to stay in that campaign.

I think the level scaling contributes in PvP the same way as PvE so your overall stats and power are the same as you go up, you just get new skills to use. You do want to keep gear nearer your level as the built in buff is not as good if your way over leveled on your gear.

I think there is a post L50 Non Champion Point campaign too, so check that out when you get to L50, you might find it as much fun too.

But if you want to level faster, then come over to the PvE areas, lots of ways to get levels fast.

Translation "There are a number of players that like to fight noobs that don't stand a chance against them and claim its because of performance", but each to their own play-style right.

I leveled all mine in Cyrodil

then have to PVE forb skillpoints anyway, so beware

For good ole leveling PvE is the best way. Turning in quests, daily undaunted pledges, Craglorn and wrothgar world boss grinding.

I have leveled 2 characters in cyro and loved it both times.

I leveled all my alts partially in Sewers until I got basic skills and then doing Cyrodil daily quests - and doing main quest (Harborage)

after hitting 50 I grab shards I need for whichever skills I don't have yet and that's it

Cyrodiil delves also have very fast respawn times on mobs for grinding.

The quests in the PvP towns and scattered around the map reward a ton of XP and AP. They also award gear boxes so you can gear up pretty well too.

Get the Alliance Skill speed buff as soon as you can and boogie around the map.

Don't forget Imp City as well. It's more forgiving 1-50, so you can amass Tel Var Stones. And Imp City PvP aside, soloing some of the groups of mobs can be a good way to test out builds.
