Kalfis✭✭✭✭The best small home is Twin Arches in Bangkorai.
It's big, it has a courtyard, it's Redguard architecture.
The location isn't very good, is pretty much the only downside.

✭Honestly, I agree. Captain Margeaux's Place is easily one of the least desirable houses. It's just a gloomy brown box. XP
Now, something like Humblemud has a lot more character, don't you think?
But really, keep an eye out for the other cheap houses. In the Covenant, you have Hammerdeath Bungalow for 65k (that one's a gloomy gray box... but at least it has character!) and Twin Arches for 73k. Twin Arches is gorgeous, spacious, and has a well-sized yard... a great value if you don't mind living in the desert. It's worth a stop by if you're in southern Bankorai.Living vicariously through my characters.

And to be honest, 56K isn't really that much gold. It may not be "cheap" in general terms, but it's not that much either. If you've got a max-level character you should be easily able to earn that in a week of casual PVE questing for around an hour a day. Less if you're actively trying to make gold and/or playing the economy. If you've only got low-level characters and you don't play the economy or do much stealing then yeah, it will seem like a lot of gold.

✭✭✭✭✭I'm not convinced location is a good reason for the price when you can get a free inn room just the other side of town. Sure this one is closer to the bank but 56k to save 1 minute of travel time seems excessive.
When I first saw the houses listed I thought this was the one I was going to get. As other people have said it's one of the cheapest small houses and it's in a perfect location for one of my characters (not for any practical reasons, but she moved to Daggerfall so it makes sense she'd live there).
But as soon as I saw it I changed my mind. Not only is it barely bigger than the inn rooms but the fact that it's a plain square makes it harder to do anything interesting with it.
