2.7.5 Update - Can't equip weapons to an empty back bar - drag-and drop not working

Before today's update I could use drag-and-drop to move an weapon from my inventory to the back bar item slot to equip it. However with the update I'm unable to do this. It seems that the option to rotate the character model is taking precedent over weapon drag-and-drop. When the slot has another weapon in it I can weapon swap to replace the back-bar item. However when the item slot is empty I can't find a way to equip a weapon in that slot. Is there an alternative way to equip a back-bar weapon to an empty slot?

Is the issue with drag-and-drop a bug that will get sorted soon @ZOS_GinaBruno?

Update: I was able to work around this using an outfitter add-on and an old profile I'd setup that had a back-bar item. Still no idea how to do it in the vanilla UI.

Update 2: On a fresh load I could start the drag and drop but as soon as I crossed the character model the rotate kicked in and dropped my item back into the inventory. I was able to drag and drop but I had to route my mouse around and above the character model.
