I vote for Windhelm as a main city. It was the first city that was settled by the Nords when they came down from the continent of Atmora.
Well Solitude is the capital of Skyrim in the eponymous game so that would be the "main" Nord city, but it doesn't exist in ESO (and my history is patchy as to whether it had been founded yet in the Second Era). So we may see it one day, we may not.
In the meantime, as said, it's kind of down to how much you like or dislike snow and ice.
In this time period though, both are technically correct. Windhelm is the capital of the Kingdom of Eastern Skyrim and Solitude is the capital of the Kingdom of Western Skyrim. Eastern Skyrim (ruled by the heirs of Freydis) are a signatory of the Pact, Western Skyrim (ruled by the heirs of Svartr) are not.JarlUlfric wrote: »And to you. Solitude didn't become the capital of Skyrim until far into the Third Era sometime after the rule of Queen Potema. Before then, Windhelm was the capital. The capital has changed a few times however, once in Winterhold, and once in Whiterun for a time. The Capital is always the residence of the High King, who is elected among his peers. It just so happens to be that before Solitude became the seat, the High King was almost always elected from Windhelm.Well Solitude is the capital of Skyrim in the eponymous game so that would be the "main" Nord city, but it doesn't exist in ESO (and my history is patchy as to whether it had been founded yet in the Second Era).
