Stam DK vs Stam Sorc

I currently have a stam dk that i use for vma but i keep reading that a stam sorc is better for it (which i guess makes sense with the hurricane and crit surge combo).

But is it really THAT much better than other classes for vma? For example, I know that on my stam dk wings, corrosive, and igneous shield have saved my ass so many times that I can't imagine a stam sorc having THAT much better survivability but I don't know.

I currently have a dunmer mag sorc that I guess I could switch if you guys say otherwise because I am too lazy to level up another character (unless, again, stam sorcs are THAT much better for vma).

Would like to point out that I use VO so any points about stam sorcs having more mobility/sustainabilty are pretty moot (unless stam sorcs use streak regularly or if there are really good points that can prove me wrong). I'm mostly looking for survivability or overall effectiveness each class has on vma.

I haven't played it at that high of a level yet, but I can at least attest that stamsorc feels pretty powerful in pve. Hurricane tears everything apart and you constantly get heals from crits

Stamsorc is easy mode in vma. Best survavility, great damage, excelent synergy between skills and passives. I run regularly vma (8 toons for lb each week) and with stamsorc is the easiest. So easy i don't use vigor. You can check my video to get an idea.

StamDk is ok, al stam clases with VO do well in vma, but nothing gets close to stamsorc.

And yes, stamsorc has a bit better mobility (hurricane gives you speed), more resistances (major from hurricane, minor from bound armaments) and op passive heal (ticks higher than vigor each second without doing nothing)

I've found that Stam DK clears VMA easier and faster than Stam Sorc.

Stam DK does have a lot of survivability (maybe not as much as Stam Sorc but enough to clear VMA) however, Stam DK has a lot more DoT that you can spread out between enemies that allows him to clear stages which.

yes, stam sorc vs stam dk in maelstrom are huge difference. Sorc's have more stats, both physical dmg and max stamina. They are also quicker and better overall survivability. Stam DK wins I guess if you want to burn down a boss with standard of might, or safe yourself with corrosive armor in difficult situations, but that's it if I remember correctly. Almost a year ago since I did maelstrom, but I have flawless on both stam dk and stam sorc so I did some runs.

What sort of sets do you run as a stam sorc for VMA? I run TBS/Hulking Draugr normally on an orc and I still die pretty fast on the second wave. Do you guys use engine guardian or something?

Don't even bother with vMA without Vicious Ophidian, Night Mother's Gaze and Velidreth. Like literally, you're torturing yourself for nothing. I remember when I did vMA with my stamblade all that time ago, before DB brought back Vicious Ophidian, with a 2H and Agility. It was terrible compared to vMA on a stamina build now.

I use 5 vicious ophidian (they key to stamina chars in vma), 5 viper (free damage that recharges while you run to the next mob, next patch maybe ill change) and 2 krag (you can use velidreth if you want).

The only important thing is 5 vicious ophidian, the rest doesnt really matter, hundings, nightmother's gaze, tbs, hulking, viper, spriggan, any works.
