With how horrible this game is in regards to RNG, arbitrarily raising gear caps is an absolutely horrible design. Characters scale to zones why can't gear scare to characters? I wouldn't mind gear cap increases, but it literally took me around 400 vMSA runs to get all the weapons for my toons - not to mention how much time it takes to farm to get the tempers to improve these. By one day logging on with CP 180 or higher I now have to start all over. This isn't progression, its ridiculous. Strategies like that favor new players and those who can devote a hundred hours a week to play, but for people with jobs or families it is too unforgiving.
Instead of just raising gear levels, why not scale the gear to the character and simply add new gear? There would still be an aspect of farming new items without having to completely start over.
I have stayed though a lot on this game, but personally speaking - next gear cap raise I am gone. Can't bear the thought of re-farming things I already have unless something is dramatically changed with the RNG.
