I need a magicka dk build

Just returning to the game, and I left just after hitting 50 on my khajiit dragon knight. She's in 7/7 light with a fire staff and resto staff.

Soloing is terrible though. Seems like I have very low damage, no real range spells, and am super squishy. I'd like to keep her magicka spec, but I need something more effective for getting champion points

Khajiit doesn't compliment magic at all.. maybe you could start there.. people usually choose dark elf, or high elf for magic dragonknight.

I play khajiit everything, don't really bother min maxing racial passives. A few percentage points doesn't make or break a character, as much as everyone wants to believe it.

Ok.. well maybe not but it probably makes more of a difference than you think.. moving on.. you're wearing all light armor.. that could be why you're squishy.. as far as damage goes.. you should be pretty powerful if you're in all light armor.

For DPS, the DK front bar hasnt changed in a while:

Inferno Staff: Whip, embers, engulfing flames, elemental blockade, inner light, meteor.

For the Back bar, you could defintiely go resto if solo, but for grinding, run a lighting staff. The AOE is nuts. I also run lightning in trials and group stuff.

Eruptuion, Trap, Molten Armaments, FLEX, Inner Light, Standard.

My flex changes depending on what I am doing: SOF on bosses, Inhale (deep breath) on trash, Annulment (shield) for certain hardmode fights.

If you want to go full on Resto staff, then you could make room for Ward and Rapid Regen, but outside VMA, you shouldnt need that. If doing this and grinding, I would replace burning embers with Elemental ring for some AOE.

Basically for AOE fights, Put down Blockade and engulfing flames on your front bar, then put down Eruption and trap on your back bar. Cast inhale, then channel a full lighting attack, inhale, full lighting attack, then reapply buffs as needed. Inhale is a strong heal and make sure you let it go off. With molten armaments, the AOE from your lighting staff is insane (and free to cast).

I would NOT go 7/7 light on any class but a templar healer. Go 5 light/1 medium/1 heavy if you have undaunted maxed, otherwise go 5 light, 2 heavy. Magma shell is a great ultimate if you are really struggling to stay alive.

As for your race, if you like Khajiits, then play one. If you think you wouldn't notice the difference as a Dunmer, however, you are wildly mistaken. Khajiits are certainly better suited for stam builds, but I am guessing you know that.

If You really want a build to just grind in the best spot in game right now, go with:

resto staff:
-Draw Essence
- Healing Ward
- maybe mutage/rapid regen or Illustrious Healing or any shield

destro staff:
- wall of elements, pick morph You want
- impulse
- Engulfing Flames
- and eruption

for ults use magma shield(it is crazy ult), shooting star or standard of might. Rest skills is up to You.
Meta gear right now is Burning Spellwave, so go get it as soon as possible.
For a PvE dps, magDK did not changed that much and quick google search will prove it.
