How well did the proc nerf work out?

I stopped playing a couple of months ago, bc I had just upgraded my Skoria set to legendary, only for it to get nerfed hard in PvE...

I'm wondering though, how did the nerf work out? Is PvP (more) balanced? Has there been a change in the meta in either PvE or PvP? I had played PvP quite a bit before and, as a MagBlade, didn't like my experience, but how is it now?

Unfortunately the nerf affects pve more then it does pvp. They removed proc sets ability to crit. Hopefully something changes wen the patch goes live monday.

They should have made proc sets do a crazy amount of damage but by scaling off the lowest of your 3 stats (health, magick, stamina). Might promote or make hybrids more viable where you don't want to totally ignore any 1 stat since the lowest would drag the proc down. Would help hybrids on the dps front a bit. Possibly diversity since they would be viable.

Close to my thoughts...

tooltips for basic powers like skills and such comes from two factors - your maxmax/maxsta depending on type of damage plus another component for your spelldam/wpndam with variable adjusting those factors into the total.

spelldam/wpndam comes mostly from weapon quality and wpn level.

I think what they should have done is taken every recap set, split its top damage in half.
let the half that is from "the gear" be based off weapon quality and level like it is now.
let the half that is left be switched to be the top value if the stat maxmag or maxsta is maxed... whatever they use as top of the line for their calculations. Say IDK 40k stat = current half damage.

So this means run a proc set with mostly health stats - get about half the current damage, maybe a little more.

run a top end magica or stamina offensive recap set build - get the full damage now but dont get all the health benefits you would have had in hvy with tons of health.

IMO totally making the damage based on the quality and level of the item was a design mistake that doesn't happen anywhere else commonly but happens across the board for recap sets.

Instead of creating a global cooldown for proc sets - meaning only one set can proc per second - they decided to just make these sets not crit, which means you can still stack as many proc sets as you want and have them all proc at once. Impact to PVP is expected to be minimal. This is mostly a PVE DPS nerf but we will find out on Monday.

Haven't heard of any complaints about procs since they took the crit chance away from them

Is the skoria set good in PvE still? I quit because literally the day after I upgraded my skoria to legendary, they announced the nerf... Hopefully the skoria set isn't irrelevant

Skoria is still used for most magDK set ups.

Skoria is still very good
