Is it a pre-order or a pre-purchase?

I see the digital edition of Morrowind listed as a "pre-order" on the website. Is it actually a pre-order (meaning you just put down a deposit) or is it a pre-purchase (meaning I get charged the full price right away)?

In Amazon they don't charge you until they ship it... don't know how it is with other vendors...

Yeah, that's how it usually is with physical copies of games. I'm getting the digital upgrade though, so I need to know which one it is for that. I usually hold off on pre-purchasing since you get charged the full price right away.

Anyone order the digital version and can confirm?

You should be able to add it to your cart and start the process. It will most definitely show what you are being charged today before you click the final confirm.

    I assume it's pre purchase.

According to Amazon on digital games:

You won't be charged for your pre-order until the product is available for download. When the product is available, you will receive an e-mail reminder that your download and product keys are in Your Games and Software Library. You can also go to Your Games and Software Library anytime after the release date to download your product.

Thanks. Just checked that way and it is a pre-purchase.

They should change the wording to avoid confusion.

I'd say if you go to a retail store it's a pre order

    If it's done digitally it's a pre-sale

Ususally retail stores won't accept 100% for physical copies cause they aren't allowed to sale it until x-date

Digital pre-sale. You pay in full

Charged or do you have a hold placed on your card or pre-auth. There's a big difference

Amazon does not access your credit card until day of release... at least in the US...

I'm ordering from the ESO website, not Amazon. The upgrade edition isn't available on Amazon in Canada.

Never seen any game company website charge you later lol. Sure yeah the third party sites like Amazon and stuff do but your taking a risk getting your key in time also. Seen many complaints about that before but yeah never seen a MMO not charge you till it comes out its pretty mcuh always directly buy right then and there.

I've ordered from 50+ games from Amazon, if its a physical disc I have always received it day of release and have been able to download codes for digital copies on day of also...but as always YMMV...
