As in the latest development with ZOS and the article as it was presented to us, for which the link is bellow-
http://www.elderscrollsonline.com/en-us/news/post/2017/02/01/welcome-to-2017
it's a simple question in front of us. Are we going to just ignore the balent lies thrown to our faces all this time again and again, promises which were made and never kept, DLCs promised and never delivered, bug fixes promised and not done, and now on top of that a new content delivery system in terms of real life money paid to them. In name of content, being delivered more and more broken mechanics, half developed system i.e. justice system, Housing and breaking the whole game progression system in name of 1Tam, so that they don't have to fix other loop holes like vDSA leader boards, or scaling dungeon and other various exploits. So my question stand here as mentioned in the subject-

I'll keep Sub because i'm an addict to craft bags and can't do away with it even though I don't like how long term players have been treated and mislead.

Sorry to disappoint, but I'm fine with the expansion costing some money over and above the sub.

It is WAY more than just a DLC zone.

I missed the memo where Zos asked us each to create our own thread or two of three with our son special takes on the expansion.

I better get started. I need to come up with something sweet and saucy for @NewBlacksmurf to get into.

Is there news beyond the stream announcement? If not then I still have no idea the full scope of what they're laughably, and transparently, labeling an "expansion" or "chapter" rather than DLC to avoid the wording in the ESO + description granting access to members to future DLC content sold in the crown store (which is why they won't sell it in the crown store).

I'll still buy it, because I love the game. But I don't pretend I don't see the marketing sleight of hand or that I excuse it because this is industry standard d-baggery.

If it's big enough to be more than DLC, I'll call it what they want me to call it.

My position doesn't quite fit into most people's hyperbole. I've never subbed because I've never thought it was worthwhile. In particular it's always been cheaper to just buy the DLC out-right than to sub and hope they release enough stuff to justify it.

I also fully expected that if they released an expansion (something that's been rumoured for months now) subscribers would have to pay for it. It just seemed obvious to me and I found it strange that so many people said they wanted one even though it'd cost them extra.

I understand that people are upset, and I think for people in that position it's a reasonable reaction (at first, I'm sure it'll calm down over time, if only because I've seen it all before with other games).

But bearing all that in mind I'm fine with what ZOS are doing. They offer a payment method which works for me, I'm happy with the amount of content I get and what it costs me and what they've told me I'll get in future.

As I see it, ZOS was open that the current system was not working and decided to change it long term for the good of the game. If it means we get a better product with better development time put into I'm all for it. I like ZOS, but each major DLC has NOT been read for release. Each one has had some annoying flaws or exploits which slipped through and NEVER, EVER should have made it to live (survey exploit... I'm looking at you).

But this was caused by ZOS needing to meet their deadlines and rushing through the development process when, really, these should have been delayed for quality control. If the major expansion gets the time it needs to arrive polished, better tested and ready to go... I am all for that. If the content is GOOD (read: not DB or TG level) even better. DB and TG had great storylines but ZOS force them behind an annoying grind mechanic which was, if anything, poorly realized and implemented.

Apparently ZOS is doing a great job considering they blew away all other MMOs for 'MMO of the Year'... so I think those complaining are in the extreme minority. From the reactions I've seen on other sites, this also pans out too, for every one complaint, I see at least 10+ people that are fully supportive.

This is a good point, but I'm worried they're going to run into the same problem with annual expansions.

Guild Wars 1 was abandoned in favour of making Guild Wars 2 partially because the entire business model relied on them releasing a new campaign every year (they had no subscriptions and a very limited cash shop) and the company were never actually able to meet that schedule. (They also wanted to introduce mechanics which were impossible with the engine and all the maps being instanced.)

Whenever a studio does release a new game in a series every year it always seems to be either a re-hash of the same thing (football games for example) or they really struggle to maintain the quality, like the Assassin's Creed games and that schedule never seems to last.

Which actually would be fine for me as I tend to play games very slowly (especially big RPGs) so an expansion a year sounds like a bit much for me to keep up with. But if they do find they can't maintain the pace and release DLC in between, I suspect a lot of people will be unhappy.

I have 2 accounts. I'm pre-ordering the Collectors Edition mainly for the box and the stuff in it. That's what I did when the original game was released back in 2014. Then for the other account I'll probably buy the Digital Collector's Edition Upgrade.

I'm retired and live alone so the game is my entertainment. And yes I think it's worth it.

Swum-Many-Waters, elderly argonian healer: "I think that I would enjoy writing a memoir."

Peregrine Huntress, bosmer hunter: "Who is forcing me to stay inside, and where can I find them?"
Lorenyawe, altmer mechanist: "And why would I want to go outside in the first place? Too much to be done in the workshop."
Lorelai Magpie, breton master thief: "I'd go nuts. Lucky for me, I have a little experience sneaking out!"
Rasheda the Burning Heart, redguard knight: "I would continue my training to keep my skills sharp."
Hex-Eye Azabi, khajiit daedric priestess: "I suppose it would be lucky, then, that I built a shrine to Mephala in my backyard."
Yngva Stormhammer, nord bandit (reformed...ish): "I hate being inside even when I'm not forced to be. GET. ME. OUT."
Madam Argentia, vampire dunmer aristocrat: "I suppose it would be more of the same. I have a rather... contentious relationship with the sun."
Mazie gra-Bolga, orc scout: "Uh... I'd have to house train my bear..."
Felicia the Wanderer, imperial witch-for-hire: "What Lorelai said."
Calico Jaka-dra, retired khajiit pirate: "This one would like a rest from her grand adventures. Her jewel shop runs out of stock!"
Shimmerbeam, blind altmer psijic: "Provided that I am confined to Artaeum, I do not think I will want for things to occupy my time."
Shauna Blackfire, redguard necromancer: "Sounds like paradise. I hate people."
Kirniel the Undying, cursed bosmer warrior: "I would feel useless, not being able to fight."

I understand the issues people are having with this, but every thread that pops up is making me care less and less. I already unsubbed because of the crown crates, if I hadn't then I would unsub now.

If this bothers you then unsub. Just make sure you are prepared for the lack of crafting bag. When you craft it will first take out of your crafting bag. So every thing new you pick up will be useless to you other than trading, till you finish all those thousands that are saved in your c-bag.

If this bothers you, but not enough to unsub... Then please stop complaining, if you aren't willing to vote with your wallet there is no reason for ZOS to hear your pleas.

If this doesn't bother, then good on you :)

I feel bad for people who subbed, but the writing was on the wall. We already had 2 confirmed quarters with no DLC after a quarter with a 1500 crown DLC. I didn't expect them to follow that up with new content that is also not going to add value to ESO+.

I think the new approach is fine. The old approach was fine too. On paper. So long as they do what they plan, people can make informed decisions about how to get access to DLC. But if they can't deliver, not their problem.

I have long been an advocate for buying DLC with crowns anyway.
