The case as this one understands it is still subject to a possible appeal.

So no beer money yet for us - or probably ever.

Zenimax Media (parent company of Zenimax Online Studios and Bethesda) have sued Facebook for the use of VR tech which they claim they owned the rights to.

ZOS will very unlikely receive any money from this as it's not related to ZOS at all but the workings of their parent company Zenimax Media.

    *Edit

Well apparently this article is saying it' an NDA breach and not a IP claim which others have so my first statement could be wrong. This is still about Zenimax Media and not Zenimax Online Studios however.

It was a settlement, not a verdict. So, if the story is true, most probably no appeal is going to happen.

I'm quite good at genetics (as a subset of biology) because I am an expert (which I know is a tautology).

i suppose it means Elder Scrolls 6 will really be a VR game (i recall there was an interview with Bethesda saying that the current technology is not ready for Elder Scrolls 6 yet so they don't have a schedule for its release)

and facebook losing some money to Bethesda sounds like a wonderful news to me

That's about 0.0000001% of their weekly income I am sure.

Facebooks profits are around 35 million a day.

This means that Facebook will lose 2 weeks worth of it's profits because of this settlement.

So it's basically for them it's an equivalent of having to pay for small repairs of your neighbours car after you accidentally bumped it.
