About Morrowind's story and Vivec

I hope they somehow manage to bring Michael Kirkbride back to TES for this expasion. Or that they at least let him write Vivec...

    Oh please no.
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

No no no no. The last thing we need is for more fuel for his rabid fanbase to say that his fanfics that were written after he stopped writing for TES are canon.

Just to be clear, I have nothing against the man himself and I really appreciate what he did for the franchise, but I absolutely hate when people bring his fanfics into lore discussions as if they were canon.

He's done some contract work with them in the past, so I don't see why it wouldn't be possible. Especially since afaik he's still doing the Lore section on the forums, and is still part of the Imperial Library.

It's hardly fanfic when what he talks about shows up in-game. Talos and Heimskr in Skyrim, Vivec's Antlers in ESO, etc.

I don't really care for his latest works, which can definitely be a bit too esotheric, but it seems right to at least let him write Vivec. You all loved Morrowind after all, didn't you?

They have their own Loremaster - the great Lawrence, and they work with Bethesda on some lore stuff, I believe.

Absolutely no need to bring in Kirkbride.

Besides, they've been working on Vvardenfell for ages. All the quests are probably written and voice recorded.

It is a piece of fiction written by a person that is not the lore master anymore. It is fanfiction. He even wrote the c0da to tell people that his canon is as canon as their canon, but people took it at face value as if it was actually a story that was part of the canon.

I don't want any more of this mess.

Absolutely. But if they had, they would have likely said they had.

And if they haven't, why bring him in when everything is likely written and dialogue recorded?

To us, mind you, it doesn't mean that it wasn't a thing already among the staff. It is not like Mr. Lawrence Schick is making stuff up as he goes.
That doesn't by any means make anything MK wrote after leaving canon.

Ever heard of an Easter egg before? kind of like that lord of the rings Easter egg where it mentions the items Frodo had on his journey, does that mean LOTR exists in ES? the answer is no.

If they didn't bring him back by now, it's probably too late for that at this point; we know they've been working on this for months, after all.

But we can still speculate about the plot regardless. What do we know so far?

--It's going to take place in Vvardenfell
--Per the Twitch stream, Vivec is somehow 'ill' and losing his powers
--In one of the Pact area quests it's stated that the Tribunal haven't taken their yearly pilgrimage to Red Mountain
*May or may not be the reason behind Vivec's 'illness' as that seems too obvious for the long-time fans of the series they're targeting
--Per the advertising e-mail they sent out, there's a 'Daedric threat' involved
    --Naryu will be involved
--If the trailer is to be believed, somebody's Grandmaster betrayed them (I'm guessing the Morag Tong's but I'm a little ignorant of how their hierarchy works; someone speak up if this is implausible)

Well, he doesn't want to *just* stop the meteor, he wants to keep the thing hanging above everybody's head so they remember to love him or he crushes them all. Man, Vivec is needy.

He claims to be a god yet is suffering from a disease like a mere mortal, that is proof he is just a Elf with a superiority complex who siphoned some power from an artefact just like Ancono tried to do to the Eye of Magnus and most of what he stated was a lie,, Vivec is a mortal and his longevity is likely due to the same reason Divayth Fyr is still alive after 4000 years, He, Sotha Sil and Almalexia just duped the people of Morrowind into believing they were gods kind of like how that vampire Irarak did to his followers.

Also why should we help him keep the very thing responsible for the destruction of Vivec City 800 years from now afloat? the only reason it is there in the first place is because Vivec is using it as a threat to his people should they ever stop worshipping him.
