Morrowind platform specs question

I am excited about Morrowind and planning to pre-order. But when looking at the info on the Amazon site, it says the supported platforms are Windows 8 and Windows 7. My system is on Windows 10 (because Microsoft auto-updated it) - someone please tell me Morrowind will run on Windows 10 before I buy it.

Also, not tech-related, but about pre-orders - I need to plan this purchase. How long does the "pre-order" window last?

    It runs on Windows 10 now and there's no logical reason the update won't.

    I get that, but then why isn't it included in the platform spec list? It's a current and widely-used OS, so why was it left off? Does the game not run as well on W10, are there glitches, are there issues with loading or running the game, does it require any additional updates...

    I would very much appreciate a for-real answer on this from a moderator, if possible. I want that physical collector's edition a LOT, but I can't drop that kind of money if I'm uncertain it will run on my computer.

    There is no major studio in existence that's not going to have a game not compatible with the latest OS especially when Microsoft is pushing Windows 10 hard to unify it's platform, especially the gaming platform. There is a 0% that Morrowind would be incompatible, I can even play the original Morrowind on my Windows 10 PC.

    Windows 10 Technically isn't officially supported according to their System Requirements page.

    This is why users should not upgrade until they 100% certain the vendor of their favorite program or game has updated their software and listed the OS upgrade as compatible.(As MS does change things, even removes API functions your favorite program may use on previous versions causing your favorite program or game to stop working or not work right)

    I have Windows 10 on one machine, and 8.1 on the other. Windows 8.1 runs ESO better.

    Long story short, Windows 10 should be fine.if your not having any problems with ESO now, its doubtful you will have any when Morrowind drops.

    Rinaldo - Thank you for that answer. It was frustrating that the moderator response directed me back to the pages I already scoured for information. I could see that Windows 10 was not listed - I wanted to know if that was a mistake.

    Actually, everything about this is frustrating. I didn't want Windows 10 - the system updated itself automatically and I never had a chance to decline the OS. And I don't like using it.

    My system does now run ESO, and yes, I do assume/hope that means it will run Morrowind. But I had to quit playing WoW because my (former) system couldn't handle one of their upgrades and the game was unplayable after that. So now I'm paranoid.

    But I guess there's nothing to do but buy Morrowind and spend 4 months hoping it runs when it arrives. :(
