Why can't we buy Morrowind with crowns ZOS?

Calling Morrowind expansion, chapter or whatever that for some reason concludes that it's not included in the ESO+, fine, this is not a new business model, but why the hedge are we not able to buy it with our crowns? Crowns cost real money and is something a lot of us has paid with our ESO+ subscriptions.

I would really like an answer to this question, a real answer that proves me wrong when I assume ZOS does this just out of pure greed...

My guess as a business journalist is that the crowns you bought have already been factored into the P&L. An expansion requires additional investment and resources, so for clarity of reporting etc, they'll want "new money" that can be reported on to measure it's success, rather than telling the board the "profit" was seen months ago.

Did they ever confirm it will never be able to be bought with crowns? It might be purchaseable once it's released with crowns, and it's just the pre-order that can't be bought with crowns. Idk though, just my guess.

They woull have to give it for free to all subscribers while some of them unaware of that might buy Morowind before - i very highly doubt that they will go for that.

If you sub you get crowns.

Thy want your actual dollars not the he crowns they have already given out.

    Pretty simple really.

Since when are crowns 'given out'? They are bought in the ESO+ subscription. With 'actual dollars' or any other currency...

Since Morrowind is an expansion. I guarantee there will be DLC released for it very soon after it launches. DLC that is accessible to subs.

For some bizarre reason there are people on here that think those crowns are free. You're pissing in the wind trying to convince them otherwise. If they were free, there would be zero cash handed over in obtaining them. ZoS just don't hand them over, you have to buy a product to get them, thus they're anything but free.

Then you get, but, but , but they never used to be included, so they're free. Nah, still ain't free. Like saying those games you get with PSN+ are free, they're not. They require a sub feee to access.

ZOS charging even the subscribers, IMHO, is their own fault for even allowing DLCs to be ever bought with Crowns, freely given as "tip" for ESO+ members

Exactly my thoughts, there will be a crown sale before pts drop to try and coax people into the new addiction enabling gambling crates once dlc has dropped. Then once dlc has dropped for those pre-orders. It will be in crownstore within the fortnight.

The same discussion came up with the Orsinium release. It isn't available in the crown store yet as they can't legally charge crowns for something that doesn't exist yet. It needs to be actually released before it can be put in the crown store.

    in the crown store.

    From the FAQ:

Will The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind be purchasable in the Crown Store?

No. The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind is not a DLC game pack, and will not be available in the Crown Store to purchase. You'll need to purchase a copy from a retail store or as a separate digital download.

They need new money. I'll pay new money for crowns and voila. Where is the problem?

    Answer:
    Crowns aren't reeal Money

Crowns are given via sub which range in price by platform and by region which is inconsistent

Crowns are given for service issues which devalues them (I've received over 20k without paying)

Crowns can be purchased on or off sale by platform and range by what you can use to spend to get them

Crowns can come from game cards which range in price which were discontinued but whose codes still work on PC and cause mixed value

Real money has actual value and is a more consistent way to offer things.

How are crowns given when you sub? You aren't getting the sub given to you, you pay for it.

Crowns have no actual value. They're redeemable exclusively for digital materials that cost Zenimax almost nothing to manufacture and provide.

Cash money, on the other hand...
