Such a thing as a solo warrior for PVE?

Hey everyone, I am a major noob when it comes to this game but loved skyrim so thought I'd give it a shot. I was just curious if there is a solid build for a warrior/fighter class that can hold its own in PvE. I've been reading a lot on builds and the terminology kind of gets me lost. But I am currently working on this build, DK 1HS GROUP PVE / 2H SOLO PVE REVISED, found at ESO Academy. Is this build still good or should I just stop now and rethink my decision? Not sure if there is such a class in ESO but in skyrim I was a warrior with duel wield with life leech and soul trap enchanted swords.

I'm also trying a sorc build called Heal & Kill from ESO Academy.

Sorry for a long drawn out post but really clueless when it comes to anything with this game.

With enough cp (about 200-300) you can solo 95% of the content in the game as any class. Dk can do it just fine but I don't have one so can't give you pointers on that. If you choose sorc then all you need is Power Surge and Hardened Ward. I don't know the "heal and kill" build but if it contains a resto staff it's not optimal for *solo* pve.

For sorc the build skills are:
    Weapon 1 Destruction
    Endless Fury
    Crushing Shock
    Crystal Blast
    Destructive Reach
    Summon unstable clannfear
    Elemental storm

    Weapon 2 restoration
    Dark conversion
    Ward ally
    Shattering prison
    Boundless storm
    Summon unstable clannfear
    Greater storm atronach

    All stats to magicka

CP = champion points, and that sounds like an old build. For solo pve as a pet sorc or non-pet sorc you really don't need a resto staff. Sorcs heal by doing crit damage via a skill called Power Surge from Storm Calling. If you have 60% crit chance or more this skill will provide all the healing you need as long as you keep doing damage.

I can't recommend a pet sorc build as I never use the summons, but if you don't mind not using pets you can go with something like this:

Bar 1 ( sharpened fire staff):
    Bound Aegis
    Inner Light
    Force Pulse
    Crystal Fragments
    Elemental Blockade (wall of elements)
    Ult: Ice Comet/Shooting Star

Bar 2 (2x sharpened 1h weapons or sharpened lightening staff):
    Bound Aegis
    Inner Light
    Liquid Lightening
    Power Surge
    Hardened Ward
    Ult: Energy Overload

Overload bar should be the same as bar 2.

Your rotation should be: self buff with Power Surge, drop Liquid Lightening, swap bars and drop Elemental Blockade, alternate light attacks with Force Pulse until Crystal Fragments procs (then use asap) or until your DoTs or self buff need a refresh. Use Hardened Ward if your Surge heals are not keeping up with your hp loss. If your Surge heals are not keeping up with your hp loss then you don't have enough mobs sitting in your DoTs. Use overload whenever you run out of magicka and then stop using overload as soon as you have magicka again. Keep refreshing Liquid Lightening even while using overload.

This is a very basic but effective sorc solo pve setup. You can elaborate on it by adding velocious curse to your rotation once you get used to it. Velocious Curse would replace Inner Light on bar 2.

Hope that all makes sense. It's worth noting that sorc can be unforgiving as you level it up. It becomes easy mode later in the game and with practice.

Yes thanks for all the info. Know of any good templar builds or are they mainly used as party healers?

    To answer your original post:

I run on a few DKs and I solo most content. Here's the sets and builds that I use for magic-based and stamina-based soloing:

    Magic-Based:

    5 Kagrenac's Hope
    5 Burning Spellweave
    2 Valkyn Skoria

My armor is 5 heavy, 1 medium, 1 light for the 6% extra resource pools from Undaunted passives. For min/maxing- you'll want a light waist and medium gloves.

    Sword/shield bar:
Burning Embers, Puncture (or Flame Lash), Volatile Armor, Draw Essence, Igneous Shield (or Eruption). Ultimate: Take Flight
You'll get large heals from Burning Embers and Draw Essence. Igneous Shield will return stamina. Constant Take Flights will replenish resources as well.

    Inferno Staff bar:
Dragon Fire Scale, Force Pulse, Inner Light, Igneous Weapons, Elemental Blockade. Ultimate: Meteor

    Stamina-Based:

    5 Knight's Errant
    5 Akaviri Dragonguard
    2 Tremorscale

    Sword/shield bar:
Heroic Slash, Puncture, Hardened Armor, Choking Talons (or Absorb Magic), Igneous Shield. Ultimate: Take Flight

    Two Handed bar:
Rally, Dizzying Swing (or Brawler for soloing), Reverse Slash, Critical Rush, Evil Hunter. Ultimate: Flawless Dawnbreaker

The fact that you're wearing Knights Errant and using Igneous Shields will provide good heals every time you use 1HS abilities. Always have Rally ticking in the background, too. Take Flight and Flawless Dawnbreaker are relatively cheap ultimates- so they're going to restore resources as well!
Want to enjoy the game more? Try both PvP (crybabies) and PvE (carebears). You'll get a better perspective on everyone's opinion.

I don't sorry, I'm a one-trick-pony. Check out Deltia's Gaming on youtube, he loves his templars and has a few setups for pve I think.

Thanks all this information is very helpful. I know I've also been looking into hybrid builds, but is this the kind of game where you have to stay mag or sta stats in order to have a functional charactor for end game pve stuff? Sorry, I know how dealing with a noob can be, always asking to many questions. But hate to spend hundreds of hours on a character that in the end will not work.

Technically, you can use just all weapon abilities if you want a full on warrior type, regardless of class. However, I find playing a stamina dragon knight is not too bad given how the class starts off well.

Not quite what you're asking about because this is 2vX. But Jedi does the 1vX thing a lot, and is damned good at what he does. This below is just a small example of what you can achieve if you're a skilled player in this game.

Now that's in PvP. If you want to be great at PvE you need to use some PvP logic, because it relies on self sustain while doing damage. Once you learn to do this, you exit the land of zerglings. :D
