So, I've got a few pieces of this set, including jewellery, so I'm messing around with it. What do you guys think will work with it as a second set, specifically for stam dps?

Thinking about Hundings, TBS...

For PVE TBS. People don't undetstand it's still gonna be one of the best sets after patch. It's not like crit damage is useless lol

Do you mean Twice-Fanged Serpent? A three second buff for a total of 5 000 Physical Penetration. Basically just a worse version of Spriggan's Thorns.

How did you come to that conclusion? I believe the penetration buff stays if you're dealing damage, I also believe this set gives crit while spriggans doesn't? Making it better for PvE

I suppose. I was thinking more about PvP.

Twice-fanged serpent is awesome. Use it on a stam dk or stamsorc, put a few dots on and enjoy. The 5k stays on for as long as you keep doing damage, so with this set you can get away with one precise or nirhoned vma weapon.

Two fanged needs sustained damage to stay fully at 5k .PVP spriggan is best, it's penetration is all upfront on first strike.

Two-Fanged serpent is best in slot for stamina in PVE. You can adjust sharp weapons depending the monster set you use or the group debufs.

That is just false. TBS is only worth it if you have enough group support NMG and Alkosh. And the Crit Damage nerf did make TBS weaker than Hunding's Rage. Don't spread misinformation.

Given the current amount of stamina DPS in competitive trials groups (1 or 2) Two Fanged Snake is FAR superior to TBS.

This set is already BiS if you are the only stamina build in the group.

The best in slot for this and next patch looks like this:
    5 Two Fanged Snake
    2 Velidreth or Stormfist
    3 Vicious Ophidian
    Maelstrom dual wield and bow

I have seen some solid parses from guildies testing on PTS. It could be a solid set. at 2, 3 and r pieces the stats are all good.

The question is, with a solid organized raid group with good debuffs on the boss like Alkosh, is the physical pen way to much. With an average raid group it should still be ok since most groups doing the weekly runs of trials do not push debuffs as much.

It won't be too much penetration. Because magicka builds already get their 5k penetration from passives, TFS just brings you to the same level of penetration as them. Meaning that 1 Alkosh debuff would but you at full penetration. Crushing enchant has a 50% max uptime. Minor Breach and Fracture from healers isn't really necessary at this point. Just a decent Alkosh uptime and everyone in the group will be fully penetrating the boss.

In pve you could run a 3 piece alkosh/vicious ophidian 2 piece like velidreth or kragh and malestrom weapons

I prefer Stormfist on any stamina class. It does the same total damage per proc as Velidreth, with a shorter cool down. It also has more AoE potential. But next patch you'll probably be running the 5 piece Alkosh to be of some use to the group.

You think Velidreth is better than Kraghs? I don't see any nerfs or buffs to either one and Kraghs is better right now isn't it?

@IronCrystal Kra'gh is only used because the 1 piece bonus is really powerful, however, the 2nd piece doesn't have much AoE potential which is what stamina builds lack most. Velidreth and especially Stormfist have WAY more AoE potential. With Two-Fanged Snake, you don't need the penetration from Kra'gh as you're already at 15k with just Major Fracture (basically just like magicka builds).

So with Kra'gh out of the picture, we are left with Velidreth and Stormfist.

In terms of 1 piece boni, Velidreth > Stormfist. BUT: the 2 piece on Stormfist has more AoE potential as it can hit more than 3 targets and does roughly the same damage per proc as Velidreth but with a smaller cooldown (so basically more damage either way). The shock damage part of Stormfist still benefits from Thaumaturge and U13 we'll stack in there a little more than we do now because of the crit damage nerf. If you're a stam sorc, Stormfist is just outright better. I personally use Stormfist on a stamina nightblade (one of my 2 main trials toons) and on stamina Sorc when I feel like switching the gear through a banker or even on stamina DK. Velidreth is good as well, but I think it does less DPS in single target and for sure less AoE. Stormfist's animation looks cooler and its more AoE damage so I went with that. Its all personal preference.

I personally think that the best option is either to run 5 pieces Alkosh or 3 Vicious Ophidian/Alksoh + Stormfist. Just my opinion.

Alkosh is good for when synergies are readily available, otherwise the 5 pc is wasted.

Additionally, tanks are more and more wearing Alkosh to the point that trials with 2 tanks are more and more having both tanks in Alkosh. It is a good fit.

Second tank often gets separated from the group though. Plus most synergies have a cool down longer than 10 seconds so with 3 people you could pretty much guarantee a high uptime on the boss and all the adds. Especially the adds in trash pulls, having 3 people with Alkosh instead of 2 will be pretty sweet IMO. It never hurts to have an extra Alkosh guy. Synergies also scale off weapon damage/stamina or spell damage/magicka so a DPS with Alkosh will actually do some pretty decent damage with Novas, Liquid Lightnings and blue orbs.
