But I don't think that explanation makes sense, when we take the context of the deal made in the quest. It really seems like it is supposed to be our actual skeleton. Still, the fact that they gave this explanation makes me think they don't plan to fix it

Hmm, that reminds me - it's been a long time since I've done that quest in Coldharbour with the skeletal pirates - did they ever fix that one so that the Argonian skeletons aren't just human skeletons?
I'm not sure I see a reason for ZOS to devote clearly scarce dev. resources to this trivial issue, frankly. If they had graphics designers and digital artists sitting around on their rear-ends doing nothing then fine, but I seriously doubt that situation ever arises.
