In like level 30 but still don't understand alot about this game. I have a bunch of questions and im hoping i can shotgun them out into cyber space and you nice folks can help me out :).

In no particular order: what amount of gold is alot of gold? I see people freaking out about 2-5k but i have like 30k and can't find any ting worth spending it on, as dungeons and dolmen give lots of gear.

Im a nightmare but fights take like 10 seconds per mob, is that normal? It feels slow but then again my most recent mmo was wow and everything there melts like butter.

Do i just put all points into stam ?

And when sneak i still bolt around at max speed, is that normal?

Last why does max level gear do the something as my new lowlevel gear?

Have you upgraded your bank and backpack? How about your riding skill? Those are the primary gold sinks in the game. At level 30, I have to figure you either haven't upgraded much, or you've discovered a pretty good money-making method that most people don't know about or use.

Yep, sounds about right, though it depends on your build. My tough, tanky characters take about that long, but they're tin cans so they can take a million hits while they whittle the baddies down. Meanwhile, my assassin shreds through most enemies in a couple hits, but she's built as a glass cannon and can't take many in return. That's the trade-off.

A couple tips, here: You may not realize it, but your weapon damage is determined by your stamina (or magicka, if your weapon is a staff). Same goes for skills... the damage is based on either stamina or magicka, whichever they spend when you use them. If it feels like you're not doing much damage, you may have too many points in health. Health is good while leveling, but it can cut into your DPS a bit. Something to be aware of.

Also, make sure your weapons are up to date. If they start getting outdated, the One Tamriel level scaling system makes you feel it fast.

If you want to be a pure weapon-based DPS, yep. Though it doesn't hurt to heave some health while leveling, other wise your survivability goes down.

Are you "sneaking" as in crouching, or "sneaking" as in cloaking? If using the Nightblade cloak ability... yeah, you can zip along at full speed. The trade-off is that the cloak only lasts a couple seconds. If you're crouching, you're usually a little bit slower... though that can be mitigated by certain gear and passives.

    Short answer: level scaling.

Longer answer: Max level is stronger, you just can't see it until you hit that level. Watch the numbers on your current gear: they will drop every time you level, because of the way level scaling works. So if you're not at the gear's level yet, don't pay attention to the numbers. Instead, pay attention to the color of its name, because that will tell you how good the gear is (white < green < blue < purple < gold).

    Living vicariously through my characters.

    My Girls:
"If you were trapped in your house for, say, a year, how would you pass the time?"

Nephikah the Houseless, dunmer assassin: "I suppose I could use the break. I have a lot of business holdings now that need management."
Swum-Many-Waters, elderly argonian healer: "I think that I would enjoy writing a memoir."
Silh'ki, khajiit warrior-chef: "Would this one be able to go outside, to the nearby river? It's hard to fish without water!"
Peregrine Huntress, bosmer hunter: "Who is forcing me to stay inside, and where can I find them?"
Lorenyawe, altmer mechanist: "And why would I want to go outside in the first place? Too much to be done in the workshop."
Lorelai Magpie, breton master thief: "I'd go nuts. Lucky for me, I have a little experience sneaking out!"
Rasheda the Burning Heart, redguard knight: "I would continue my training to keep my skills sharp."
Hex-Eye Azabi, khajiit daedric priestess: "I suppose it would be lucky, then, that I built a shrine to Mephala in my backyard."
Yngva Stormhammer, nord bandit (reformed...ish): "I hate being inside even when I'm not forced to be. GET. ME. OUT."
Madam Argentia, vampire dunmer aristocrat: "I suppose it would be more of the same. I have a rather... contentious relationship with the sun."
Mazie gra-Bolga, orc scout: "Uh... I'd have to house train my bear..."
Felicia the Wanderer, imperial witch-for-hire: "What Lorelai said."
Calico Jaka-dra, retired khajiit pirate: "This one would like a rest from her grand adventures. Her jewel shop runs out of stock!"
Shimmerbeam, blind altmer psijic: "Provided that I am confined to Artaeum, I do not think I will want for things to occupy my time."
Shauna Blackfire, redguard necromancer: "Sounds like paradise. I hate people."
Kirniel the Undying, cursed bosmer warrior: "I would feel useless, not being able to fight."
Echoes-from-Dragons, argonian who thinks she's a dragon: "All the better to count my hoard!"

(Signature idea shamelessly stolen from Abeille.)

I'd say when you get around 20 million or so, that is a lot of gold. It's not too hard to earn around 100-300k / week just buying stuff and reselling on guild traders.

As for what to spend it on, I imagine many spend most of their gold on materials to make potions (clever alchemist build can easily drink 100-200 potions per day in PVP), shopping for new armor sets, materials to make or improve armor, weapons, glyphs etc.

Don't have experience with other MMOs, but I'd say don't worry too much about the difficulty if you are just starting out. Once you are higher level with good equipment, the PVE areas should all be pretty easy except for veteran dungeons and trials.

It depends on your goal. If you are just leveling, the choice for attributes doesn't matter too much until you get to max level. If you are dying too fast, go ahead and put some points into health.

Ideally while you are leveling, by the time you reach CP160, you want to level up all three armor skills to 50 (light, heavy, medium - so wear at least one piece of each category) and max out all of the class and stamina weapon skills (2H, dual wield, sword&shield, bow) and fighter's guild skill. Use some sort of aoe ability like steel tornado or brawler to kill stuff, and keep slotting in the other abilities on your bar when grinding or turning in quests.

If you use concealed weapon morph it allows you to move faster when sneaking.
