Overload sorc min/max

So ima 561cp high elf sorc and i been wanting to make a strictly vet trial build.

Obviously just getting into vet trials il be learning mechanics for a while till i can master em .

Until then im focused on a overload sorc because a guild mate told me its a good way to go for high dps.

So right now im pushing 45k overload on crit ( 48% crit ) with 5 alchemist 5 elegant and 2 kena . Destro/restro

Whats the highest overloads you guys get ?

And is it worth it to have a overload build with new patch ?

I heard with netches touch + elegant dual wield you can hit 50k overloads on crit

If you are looking to sorc in trials you wont be using overload. it is a terrible pve dps ability when not in maelstrom. just use meteor destro ult. tamrielfoundry.com has many solid builds. just look for one that uses burning spellweave and illambris.

the fights in vet trials are longer, which means you will be empty already when first boss is at 80% from overload, and your dps will start falling drastic afterwards.

overload also will get "nerfed" in update, you wont be able to store up 1500% ultimate anymore, think it will be down to 750% if I remember right.

for magicka sorcerer, meteor from mages guild, and destro ultimate will give higher dps

I get the occasional 52k overload crit (usually 48k) with elegant, spinners and vma destro. Netches touch isn't a great set for min/maxing afaik. I have a suspicion that the enchantment from the vma destro affects overload light attacks because the biggest crits I get are also when my target is standing in WoE. Don't quote me on that though.

All that aside, I thought that overload had fallen out of favour with the trials peeps because it has so much downtime and can't be weaved. Overload is strongest as a way to keep doing damage when you run out of magicka, the dps from it isn't a massive jump up from the dps from regular rotaion. My overload dps is about 30k whereas my rotation dps is about 25k.

Ya what i was thinking was use ur 100 over load then do your normal rotation untill u build it back up .

But the rotation dps would take a hit because of elegant lol so ya.

Never use Overload in vet trials. Use double destro staff with destro ult and mages ult.

Alchemist is for Pvp and is bad in pve, drop that and get either elegant or julinanos to match with the spell weave.

The way to use elegant is to have dual wield back bar. This way you can have a full set plus 3 on your front bar, usually illambris+spell weave or julinanos. So if you want the highest overlaid attacks, it would look like this-

Head-kena
Shoulder-kena
Chest- julinanos or spell weave
Glove- ^
Belt-^
Pants^
Shoes-^
Neck- Elegance
Ring- Elegance
Ring- Elegance


Now weapons would be a sharpened fire staff, that is enchanted with a spell damage glyph, or the sharpened VMA one. That is it. Never anything but sharpened on your front bar.

Back bar is dual sharpened Elegance one handers, doesn't matter what type, as the passive the the 2.5% increase in damage from swords from the dual wield tree does not work in overload.

A cheaper option that works if you do not have access to a sharpened VMA fire staff is to make a sharpened julinanos staff(with spell damage enchant) and one hander for the back bar and just find any single sharpened one handed Elegance weapon and any piece divine armor.

With this set up, my overloads hit for 48k+.

Elegant/heavy attack build is nice for vMA (and very easy to play). But its gonna get nerfed in the next patch I think? (the ulti limit is reduced to 500 points from 1000).
Anyway, even with 1000 points you wont have enough ulti to kill bosses with overload (and dont forget that with 160cp scaling trash mobs in trial became much tougher and sometimes you'd want to drop ulties on them as well). Overload used to be kinda OP when you had vr16 characters vs vr12-14 bosses, but nowadays... Not so much. Sorc is a good choice for vet trials, but overload build isnt viable.

The best overload set up is elegant, Julianos and 1pc illambris and 1pc infernal. Fully buffed you're pushing 48k magika. That's all that matters for an ol build. Kena makes no difference at all. Using this set up in vma / overland it'll do 880kish damage on 1k ulti. Soon to be halved. So with 500 ulti it won't be worth using at all.
