For me personally when I try soloing bosses, world bosses, there is one that stands out, that I just cant seem to take down alone.

Thrall's Cove, Captain Virindi

Tempest Island or it might be Blackheart Have is one of the Hardest for me, at least on Vet. Both 2nd and 3rd Boss in that one. I am referring to the Harpies and the Boss that Morphs to a Skeleton. I have not done all the new group dungeons so that is just based on past experience.

For World Bosses, there seems to be one in each zone that is just real hard, but if I had to say just one, it is the Guar in Deeshan Bittergreen.

Can't say much if any of the Public Dungeon Bosses are hard, but I think the hardest dungeon overall is Vile Manse in Reapers March, and those bosses are tricky to solo.

    EDIT for clarity

All that the group has to do is stand still and stop attacking when the channel starts, but that's generally too difficult of a task for DPS players to do.

I don't have patience to solo veteran dungeons but because of the time needed to reset an solo instance I run a veteran after a normal in City of Ash I and The Guardian of Shrine up in the... balcony? and Rothariel Flameheart, the penultimate boss, are very hard as melee.

The Guardian is too rowdy. Unlockable teleport strike (or whatever a like), followed by a heavy attack and flaming spin.

Rothariel get us by surprise. He's not too strong for quite some time during the fight but she puts flame on the ground, summon her shades and perform an almost invisible super heavy attack. And near the end is like she absorbs the last threeshades and become much stronger all of sudden.

I couldn't solo the last boss on veteran though :(

Well we need to separate it on hardest:
    1. world bosses
    2. group dungeon bosses
    3. public dungeon bosses
    4. solo - instance bosses.

I've been cataloging world boss difficulty lately and have the top 5 as:
    1. Unfinished Dolmen (Zandadunoz the Reborn) -- Really tough to avoid all the exploding Banekin. Hard to solo as one CC means death most of the time.
    2. Valeguard Tower (Mehnir Stoneskin) -- Puts out by far the most DPS of all world bosses which makes it tough to survive the entire fight.
    3. Shivering Shrine (Aurig Mireh) -- Have to avoid all her special attacks or be one-shot.
    4. Poacher's Encampment (Old Snagara) -- A lot of different damage sources to avoid although you can make it a little easier by hiding behind the tents.
    5. Tribune's Folly (Limenauruus) -- A lot of AoEs that must be avoided or be CCd and take high damage.

    In my experience:

vMOL last boss - Because the runners can't do their job properly

Vet hard mode ruins of mazzturn. The last 30% the boss is doing constant undodgeable aoe dps to everyone then Makes someone start hallucinating and spawns a totem. If the totem isn't destroyed within like 10 seconds it's a wipe and most groups are too distracted to help reveal the statue for the hallucinating person making whatever role they are supposed to be doing null

Agree that Gaur in Deshaan is one tough fight.

I do not solo bosses or dungeons but the final boss in vet Direfrost recovers health way too fast and I have never beaten her, even in a group of 4.

Everything is easy when you nail it and are doing it with the same group...
But the thing is, Shadow of the Hist dungeons were more than doable on the release day (at least I did both of them just fine without knowing the tectics beforehand etc).
And how long did it take your group to get your first vMoL clear and then hardmode? ;)

    Aaah, yes, good farming memories...
    xD

Warden is the only boss dangerous to me there. I use my stamina to refill magicka, and you must have enough stamina left to be able to break free and block. That is all. Use tri-pots, if everything else fails.

Rothariel is just bugged, like the blue Ilambris. Her heavy attack gets calculated before the animation hits you. And she usually follows with a swift attack. Just keep blocking after she teleported, that's when she usually charges. Can't easily see it with that fire. Just quickly dispatch shadows and block until fire is gone, to be safe.

Last boss is easy, just has a bit more health. When you see him bend backwards or hear a flaming sound, dodge. Evades the DoT arrow, giving you so much breathing room. If it does hit you, visible by flames around your head (hard to see), jump into the water for a second until you hear a hissing sound. That's about it.

Very easy dungeon, done without dying solo, scroll mode, vamp 4. Keep trying!
    :)

really like this fight a lot too :)

How much do you have on your elemental resistance? I have about 78. This helps a lot. Yes, this one is hard. It is like going in a stage of vMA. Took me a bit to figure out, after I did, I solo this Thall's Cove a lot. It is less harder when I have my health at 25k or more, plus I use my heavy armor build to solo this. My stamina and my dps are a bit lower with this build, but I have better survivability with the higher heath and HA. I couldn't solo this with my 20k hp and 39k stamina medium-focused build. Brutal damages and dps output, but not enough survivability with this to solo. However, with this medium build, she is toast with just one more in the fight. Definitely, have to take out that knife throwing dude first and all times. He'll stunned you, if you don't evade or block, and usually before or during her hurricane/circle storm attack thing and you'll get one shot by her aoe, while stunned.

With my HA build, I have soloed pretty much every world bosses. The reborn boss is very tough, but lots of running and evading his aoe and his minions chasing after you trying to blow you up, I just blast him continuously with my bow and going in at him after his aoe spamming with the greatsword or DW. I don't like to solo this Reborn dude, though. Surprising, the lowest level areas of Stonefall and Deshaan have two of the harder bosses to solo, I think; the bittergreen guar and the Shrine boss, but both were sweatingly soloed. One boss pit I found seems to be tougher for me than these two, are those two Senche tigers at the Nindaeril's Perch on the west coast of Graftwood. One tiger dash at you and takes a big chunk out of your health, if you can't evade. The other tiger cripple you with its roar. So the tiger would dash at you while you have been crippled. Usually a kill on you here. Took me 3 times at it before I eventually beat them, using the same tactic and moving and firing the bow as I did with the reborn boss in Wrothgar.

The Mad Ogre in Wrothgar is the only one I haven't soloed yet. I haven't got enough patience to try that again. I tried soloing him a couple times, but he keeps getting rejuvenated by his ice ogre shaman. Hard to dps him down sololy when he keeps getting rejuvenated. The other harder boss to solo, I think, is Selene. The longer she stays alive, the more adds and her minions keep respawning. If you just focus on her, her adds/minions will pommel you, and their combined attacks/damages will take you out quick. For a stam DK, her fight become a real dps test with survivability and resistance combined. I had a harder time fighting Selene on normal than soloing the bloodspawn on vet.

But I think off tanking rakkhat is harder than main tanking it - a lot harder, there really isn't much to rakkhat as a main tank other than moving pads and holding him right.

AA, HRC and SO has a lot harder tanking on bosses. But VMOL I think has harder trash.

And as for tanking Rakkhat I say it's easiest cause I hadn't had experience prior to tanking and I went in and got it first go. But I've had trouble with some of the other trials.
