Really novice question, as I have yet to try it but do certain weapon skills work with other weapons. My example would be could I use the hidden blade (DW) while I have bows equipped?

nope, u need to have the weapon that the skill line is for in order to use it, you can however have the skill hidden blade on a bow bar, and level dw and that skill still, just not being able to use it

Uh, no...

A weapon skill requires that weapon. The passives generally indicate when using [X] weapon or using DW/Bow/2H, etc...

What would be the point otherwise?

Thanks for the response. I was thinking from a more literal perspective as the hidden blade is a thrown dagger and doesn't appear to be linked to my equipped weapons (I'm using dual axes and I'm not throwing a hidden axe). And the point would be I'd like to mix and match some skills to within their boundaries. I understand that you couldnt use the 2h charge whilst your DW is equipped
