Trinimac Valor Proc Questions

Is the proc (like Combat Physician) per person, so each person can get a shard with heal and AOE every 5 second, or is it overall?

I'm constantly trying to figure out ways to make trials tanking more interesting / different, especially as an off tank, and if the proc is per person seems like a possible valid option for an off tank to run with Igneous Shield...1k/second heals per person roughly, 1k/second AOE emanating from each person (roughly again), plus the shield itself. Valor gives 2 regen bonuses, so with Atro stone should be able to spam it quite a bit. Second set can be Ebon for more group buffing or Tava / Akaviri for better warhorn depending on the group needs.

Thoughts? If the proc is 5 seconds for one shard, I'm going to decon all my peices now, if its per person, doing 6k HPS and 6k DPS (1k per person) with your damage shield seems pretty useful as utility, especially for trials where everyone is together mostly, like Hel Ra.

As useful as this set sounds, no one seems to want it. I wonder if it's broken or just something that does not work all that well.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

It's one proc per 5 seconds overall. It use to gain 20% per ally applied, that does seem to have changed to a flat 20% period, I could be mistaken, however the proc rate for trinimac was 20% per ward when it was released.

I found Trinimac to be useful really only for my sorc pet build. However with the up coming changes to crits and sets trinimac gets hit hard

Trinimacs works differently than combat physician. Combat physician ONLY work once per proc. There is no per character. Combat prayer can also work on you as the caster.

Trinimacs valor works only one time per proc as well. It WILL NOT proc off of combat prayer bubble and it will NOT cast on yourself...

Unfortunately the descriptions are not very clear...and the two sets do not work well together. Honestly trinimacs needs to be reworked and so does combat prayer to not make them as restrictive as they are

I haven't tested, but my understanding was that combat physician cooldown was per recipient, not on the caster. If Combat Physician is 1 shield per 6 seconds, its another totally useless healer set.

Trinimacs is nice in concept only. I used it for a while as a pet using sorc. like the others above stated it procs 1 time per 5 seconds and only on 1 person. It also does not proc off of yourself. A long time ago on the forums @Waffennacht and i were talking about Trinimacs and I posted some combat logs where i used trinimacs. It was useful but not that useful.

I can confirm this post. Trinimac's Valor does not seem to cast on yourself - which is probably why so many people think it's broken or bugged.

But with how it works... that's a good thing. At least in solo play, if you're kiting the boss you don't want it on you.

It also uses the "smart" heal system. Say you do ward more than one Pet (or player) Trinimac will proc on the one with lower health. (Finally figured out why my Matriarch would get the shard over familiar at times)

You can guarantee the Proc on (oh say clannfear or familiar) by running that with a single Pet. Also guarantees the most dps and heal.

If you hit a mob of 2 or more Trinimac equals or beats Juliannos without being able to crit. Until u13 Trinimac is as good as juliannos or better then also gives a heal, after it's only better in mobs - which again solo PvE sees a lot of.

It's gonna be hit hard by u13 - even more motivation for this set to be buffed to approx 6.5k dmg and heal, put it right on par with all the over sets.

In the circumstances you describe I can see how it might be a good thing. I am a Templar though (no pets) and was planning to use it in VMA along with my infernal guardian set to try and make a shield build on my healer work in there. But it did not seem to do anything. So I abandoned that idea.

It seems that a Templar is doomed to have to rely on jabs in that place. /sigh

Looks like trini proc on cast not on person. I used it with DK igni shield and it proced too rare fo 60% chance. Looks like it was still 20%. So now i use only 4 parts of trini for regen bonuses (same as seducer but some parts on jewelry) and changed full set bonus for 2 parts of Infernal Guardian (tha is great if you use shields often)

Thanks for the comments. I wonder who at ZOS thinks this is good, with a low damage, low heal, low proc chance with global 5 second cooldown. It's sad the number of sets that are so interesting you find out how they actually work. This set goes on the "will never use but cannot bring myself to decon divines pieces just in case" mule :disappointed:

I'm hoping some time in the future they do another 1T set upgrade, I'm hoping sets like Trinimac will get buffed to equivalent status.
