Mist form and DoTs

Two questions:

1) Does Mist Form break if you have a DoT on you?
2) Does Mist Form break if you have cast a DoT on someone else?

I had this idea to use Cloak with a DoT build so that I can drop DoTs on someone and then Cloak while it ticks away, but it turns out that half the time my own DoTs break Cloak. Vampire seems pretty useless, honestly, but I was thinking that Mist Form could be a half decent substitute for Cloak if it doesn't have this same problem with DoTs.

No, dots dont break mist in any way, but im not sure i does what you think it does, your enemy can still keep wrecking you, you just take 75% less damage.

No, dots dont break mist in any way, but im not sure i does what you think it does, your enemy can still keep wrecking you, you just take 75% less damage.

It's an interesting idea. Mist form won't break due to DoTs. I believe one of the Mist Form morphs actually applies a damage over time effect.

Yes, one of the mist form morphs adds a pbaoe dot that hits mobs around you.

MIst form also reduces the damage that your damage shields take by 75%. (or it did the last time i tested). Mist form also breaks automatically falls off if you swap bars and the mist form ability isn't on you second bar. So you can use that to your advantage if you need to cast something before mist form is due to expire.

The reduced damage from vampirism passive when below 50% health is anything but useless. Vampirism is a very good skill line, especially in pvp for builds lacking mobility.

Does that passive actually work? I thought it had been broken basically since launch.

It works. Combined with high CP allocation in hardy and ele defender and high resistances you become super tough to kill. When low on resistances, you have at least a chance to pop a shield or go into mist form when destroulted. That's why vamp is a must for many serious PVP players.

Your idea won't work though. Templars will purge your dots merrily, NBs will cloak them, sorcs shield them and dks will block, reflect and/or vigor them.
You will be CCed and bursted down. And you won't have a chance to turn the tables on your attackers because you lack burst.

DOTs are more a supplementary thing when fighting real opponents, to keep a bit of pressure. Or to stack them up while actively fighting and disabling your opponent like magDKs.

Block also insta cancels you out of mist... that is my typical early exit.

It's not a dot, it's aoe ticks of magic damage. It's only good for procing other effects, unless im trying to mist and get velidreth going I use the sprint morph to dash to targets.

Seems useless lol. Literally every good player runs vampire on every magica pvp build. (aside perhaps gankers)

Not to mention the fact that using Mist Form actively for anything but running away from pressure will most certainly see you run out of Magicka very quickly, since it disables your regeneration.

yeah the baleful kist makes running along the beach tricky... suddenly you stop for breath and a train of angered mudcrabs attacks.

had the same thing happen with streak. Trucking along Hews bane southern beach when i heard my familiar in a fight behind me and turned to see the hoarde of mudcrabs i had zapped while blitzing thru going all 8th plague on the little feller.
