I love Soulshine on my Magplar. I've got it paired with Spinners but I think it's more commonly Lich
Someone on PTS did the math you will still do more damage going DW for sweeps, radiant,Vamp bane, shards.SO 5-5-2 is still going to be BIS for magplar.stevepdodson_ESO888 wrote: »
with U13 Templars can benefit from the change to Radiant Aura (or you could use Elemental Drain as it is also getting a change) if you want to keep Repentance, so you might not need to rely on Lich set anymore for magicka sustain
BSW does seem to proc a lot on my magTemp, so it's pairing it with another effective set plus Grothdar/Skoria if you are going DW for 5/5/2
but the changes to Destro Staff passives might make all magicka classes got Fire/Lightning and put their single target and AoE skills on the appropriate bar to benefit from the passive (meaning no 5/5/2)

My apprehension is that this will be the case for the next patch.
Not that i don't like staves but Burning Spellweave is no set i like.
Lightning staff VS Dual Wield isn't even much of a question. Lightning staff provides 8% damage bonus on AoE attacks only. Dual Wield provides 5% damage bonus to everything on top of providing an extra set piece, which can more than make up the difference.MLGProPlayer wrote: »
This is 100% going to be BiS next patch. Only question is whether to go lightning staff or DW. BSW is simply going to be head and shoulders above any other set for mages following all the crit changes.

Gear:
5 Burning Spell Weave,3 Aether,2 Willpower swords with a VMA flame staff is still going be BIS.

Nice. Why isn't Soulshine for PVE? Looks like a decent set up for beamplars.
Yes 5 moondancer is way stronger but harder to get so I put 3 aether 2 willpower because RNG in this game is horrible .
no, 5x moondancer are stronger than 3x aether + 2 willpower.

Soulshine is not for PvE
Even with BIS gears, the Templar dps still lacks hugely to other classes, every Templar dps I met sucks bad.

Well this is not true
Those people probably didn't have rotation and/or good skill on the bars
I can go as high as 48k on my Mag Templar
Did all Veteran Trials and DLC Dungs on hard mode.
The lowest dps I got is 25k if there is no buffs and I get my rotation wrong.
Mag Templars are in a good place right now maybe even with Jesus nerf (nerf on initial dmg but ticks will do the same dmg?).
Mag sorcs will be in better place in next patch - OP AF
I agree magplar can have some good dps output, but it's only average to other bis gear classes, I've constantly met insane sorcerer and Dk dps, just with a few hit and the boss dies. Never met a Templar that can do that, it's dps always drags the boss on.
