ZOS, what am I supposed to sell these days??

This post is about the issues I´ve had with trading and earning gold since One Tamriel was released. I´ve never been a master trader and would on average sell between 200-300k/week. My main source of income used to be from reagents (Like columine, corn flowers etc etc). When the IC-satchels where added it caused te prices of reagents to drop a lot (Columbine went from 500g each to 170g). So are almost worthless.

There´re of course other ways of earning gold. You can have luck with RNG and get tempering alloys, rosin and dreug wax from refining raw materials. You can have luck with RNG and get sharpened weapons (Like mother´s sorrow, red mountain, spriggan etc) that will sell for a lot. Then there´re those extreme top sellers than knows how to exploit stuff to its maximum potential and earn over a billion each week.

I know that no one will tell their secrets on what they sell in order to earn the big cash. But what do you sell and what is your strategy after 1 tamriel? A little guidance from some experienced trader would be very appriciated

willpower/agility still sells fast
Motifs sell fast
Nirn sells fast
Raw Mats sells fast
Upgrade Mats sell fast

Easiest grind is willpower/agility get telvar for hajeiko, xivkin motifs and agil/willpower gear that still sells for 20k jewlery.

Every 5k telvar is 10k gold

TG, DB, GC, Yokudan, drugar motif all sell for good gold these days. Stupidly easy tasks to get them too.

I rather doubt it possible to make billions/week. Millions, yes. But it sounds like you already know what to sell. I would add stealing, but with 1T, the best places are overrun now with thieves from all factions.

I keep having to change what I'm selling. Right now, mostly random loot I find doing other things. Because what I used to sell doesn't go for very much now. And because I have decided to hoard certain other things like gold mats. I am going to be working on completing some motifs, so if I am lucky I will have extras to sell. But I am not very lucky, me and RNG are hardly ever on good terms.

I frequently sold 200k a week in stuff but have recently put the breaks on most of my sales. With the next update coming I've gone into total hoarder mode and now simply sell stuff like treasure maps and motifs. I'm wagering that Tempering Alloys will be 30k+ on XBox by March.

I dont have a trader. I get what gold i can by passively playing. Sometimes i may go on a stealing murder spree in Anvil Castle.

Unless OP also spends that much per week, they should have quite the nest egg saved up.

I usually find the people who sell the least out of those people who have tons to sell, are usually those people who over price their goods. Maybe they don't mean to, but a quick look in a guild or two usually gives you a good idea what's normal and what's just a rip off. Take the Dragur motifs for example, there are people listing them for over 100k and they have 2 days remaining, only some chump then comes and lists another one for 150k. Same with reagents. People are still listing them like certain ones are ultra rare.

Same goes for gear too. People listing RM divines/imp bracers and cops for 20k each and then wonder why they're not shifting those items. Anyone can go to Crow's Wood and get enough of those to open a supermarket with the amount of RM bracers and cops they'll find within an hour or 2. Greed is usually the first thing that goes through my head when people complain about being unable to make gold from selling items. No one openly admits to it though.

I don't really farm gold, I just earn it when I play the game. With it I earn like 10k / day easily, just by doing quests and the TG and DB dailes. Can go up to 30k / day if I get TG and / or DB motifs.

In theory you could farm these quests on 8-12 characters / day, so ye.. even with just doing those dailies on multiple characters you can get atleast 100k / day just by selling motifs from 2 daily quests, and they usually sell pretty fast too.

If you really want to farm gold, just get raw materials. They usually sell for 60-80 gold / piece. Happy gold hunting ;p

Gold is a weird commodity in-game insofar as you don't really need it other than for motifs if you have a crafter. I have 4 characters and my crafter is sitting with over 2m as it's the character I receive all my sales gold on and the only character that spends it as and when I need motif pages. some of it also goes to supporting the 2 main trading guilds I'm in.

My 2nd main has never bought a single item and only uses gold for repairs and even then, I usually have an abundance of repair kits from my crafter via writs. That character which mainly pvps is sitting with over 450k which will never get spent. My other two characters have around 80k and that was just obtained from levelling up to 50. Again, that will never be spent.
