Empty Soul Gems

Does anyone actually use these? I find so many filled Soul Gems that I never need to use Soul Trap. Should filled Soul Gems be removed from random loot, in order to force players to use Soul Trap?

No, good extra source of gold from filling them while questing or doing surveys.

I'd hate that, I like getting filled soul gems and find using the skill that occasionally auto-fills the empty gems great. I'd find it choresome to go and have to actually fill them manually. I think dolmens are a good place to fill them.

As odd as it sounds, I've come to love the Soul Trap morph of Consuming Trap. On its own it's not the greatest skill, but the fact killing an enemy affected by it restore 10% health, magicka, AND stamina is pretty huge, especially since it casts on 2X targets at once. I've gotten some pretty awesome sustain from it.

But, otherwise, soul gems are pretty easy to get, but are always needed -- especially if you do a lot of PVP. At the same time, I've got some characters that have 800+ of them on me. They're REALLY easy to get.

Sometimes Ill use a dolmen group and fill up all my empty gems. 100 gems easy in 2-3 dolmen anchors

I have lots of stacks, probably over 2000 total. All my 4 main chars have 2 points in the soul trap passive.

I have almost 9,000 filled soul gems cause I fill empty ones when i power level friends or farm leather. I put on my oblivion set, and im able to fill them fairly fast. Also, the sound the oblivion set makes when you aoe fill a whole punch of soul gems at once is very oddly satisfying.

If you're a stam build then just make sure you have the passive that gives a chance of refilling soul gems from weapon attacks.

Options are good and empty soul gems hurt nothing. I have the passive where weapon (staves in my case) kills fill them 10% of the time but if I get too many empties, I enjoy hunting mudcrabs with soul trap. I imagine newer players appreciate all the gems they can find - filled or waiting to be filled.

I will confess I absolutely love the simplicity of all souls and all gems being one size. I've wished for that for many years through Oblivion and Skyrim and, until recently, ESO.

I easily go through 100 soul gems a week in Cyrodiil.. usually more. I also like to keep a stack of empty gems on me since Templars have a passive ability to charge a gem when they revive a player.
