And I only just learnt there is no different between the horses in the stable. The hell, why do they have descriptions saying they are different?
and why did I pay 40K instead of 10K for one?

Seriously update that...

If I remember correctly, back in the days of subscription fees and no cash shop, horses in the game used to differ in stats hence the price difference.

I agree they should change the price if these are basically the same apart from the colour.

Each could have 10 higher in one stat. So the black horsie could have 60 stamina max. Kinda odd that no one's updated this.

ZOS in a nutshell. Makes changes and forgets to update the old versions of the changes.
They should have all been changed to 10k when the different skins offered no bonus stats.

I started playing 2 years ago and got burnt in exactly the same way. I bought the speed mount, the carry mount and the 10k nag. And then found out that there was no difference.

I made a thread about it here asking for clarification and fifty percent of the posters were unaware that ZOS had made any changes to the original mount system.

I actually stopped playing for a while after that - I was so annoyed at wasting 80k - which was a lot when I started playing.

2 years later, the tool tip remains the same and newbies are still getting screwed by it. God help this game.

I knew about this only because I started playing just before this update came in so it was all over the forums and even some people in-game were talking about it.

They absolutely should update the descriptions to make it clear they're all the same. Flavour text is fine, but the combination of the way it's worded (which was originally supposed to advertise the hoses unique attributes) and the price difference is misleading.

The original mount system was quite different. Mounts were character-specific, so new characters started with no mounts at all even if you'd bought one before, and each one had individual attributes. If you trained up your black horse's speed only that 1 horse got faster. The 42k horses were more expensive because they started with 10 points in one stat, and could train that one to be 10 points higher than any other horse could get.

Which meant most people would pick just 1 mount for each character and stuck with it. People with the Imperial edition would start off with the white Imperial horse, which cost 1g, then either upgrade that or buy one of the 42k ones when they could. People with the standard edition would just go without until they could afford 1.

But of course that wouldn't sell crown store mounts. Spending 900+ crowns for a new mount is a lot less appealing if you can only use it on 1 character and will lose all the gold and time you've invested into training up your existing mount.

In seriousness, though... @ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_JessicaFolsom - Can we get that fixed, please?

Yep, you could only put points into horses up until you were level 50. At that point your horse couldn't level anymore. So you essentially had to buy 3 horses. One that was easier to max out on each of it's stats.

The OP shouldn't complain to much though about it gold is easy to get now. When this was true about the horses that is also when mobs at most dropped 2 gold and I think the best selling item I found through like level 45 was maybe 4 gold.

I think you're correct, that sounds familiar.

I agree with you on the gold making point. I remember on PC release when a dungeon boss would give an incredible amount of 7 gold. Good luck getting even your 10k horse back then.
Luckily I've got the imperial edition so I could afford a horse after beating the first mob.
