Easiest way to get Vigor?

Is there any way to easily get Vigor on a fresh new character? I personally really do not enjoy pvp at all and was curious if there is a way I can still get it? Such as not being forced to stick with a zerg and kill players? Is there a way I can get it solo? (I've never been into PVP before as I'm not a PVP player so please try to talk down to me in English)

It's either this or kill people. If you really want to avoid PvP, taking a side job as a Cyrodiilic Mason is probably your best option.

This, basically. Look on the map where you have an enemy faction attacking one of your keeps. Get wall and door repair kits for gold (and later for AP when you have enough AP to use that instead) and repair doors and walls if your side successfully defends the keep.

If your side loses the keep, this doesn't work.

Edit to add: it's faster just to get into the zerg and fight, or heal friendlies, though.

Get a resto staff and ride the zerg wave spamming heals. It's much better to actually be in the group. Might be a little counter-productive on a stam toon (you are after vigor), but it works.

That or just get in the fight. Vigor should take you an evening or two at most to get.

Pvp with a buddy, heal, repair, or join a group. Give it a few hours, or a couple nights if you play more sparingly, and you should have vigor rather soon.

The quickest way would be grouping and pvp for a bit. I know you don't enjoy PVP but you won't need to play for thaat long.
Also, you can try questing in Cyrodiil (always make sure nobody tries to kill you!). I am not a fan of PVP myself, and while it will take you WAY longer to get vigor with questing, well, it's an alternative ^^'

Roll magika and never set foot in Cyradiil for a core skill again.

Seriously, whoever thought gating the heal ability for stamina builds behind PVP should be forced to spend an eternity lagging out in Cyradiil getting ganked by nightblades running proc sets.

Correct 1-6 Assault in 4 hours (twitched the entire thing).

Resto staff don't be a in a group. There is nothing worse then someone saying do this do that and go here NOW! when you're clearly carving AP up farming on a hill dropping healing springs.

Ensure you have 200 repair kits walls/doors - just before cap be at the door or wall FIRST well in advance to ensure max amount of tick generally depending on time 1k AP easy! just from repairs.

    repair wall.

    and surf with the zergs:
don't join any group, read the zone chat to see where your faction's zerg gather (learn the short forms that they use), go there, stay at the back, spam healing skills at your allies. when the ppl you healed are killing enemies, you will be getting alliance points. you don't need to have any pvp skill and go to the front line yourself.

I would approach it with an open mind. I despise PvP but forced myself to join and even lead a few groups to get my vigor. Even though I suck at PvP, I found myself really enjoying the few days it took to get vigor. Loved firing catapults, repairing walls, trying to wade in and do whatever damage I could. The levels came surprisingly quickly and I plan on going back with other characters at some point. I must admit, we had some epic battles and it was fun, fun, fun.

I can get vigor in a night. Im not sure why every PVE carebear has such a hard time grinding pvp for a few days. If you really want it........go get it. I have to run mind numbingly boring, repetive dungeons for weeks to get the right traits. so Im not sorry you have to PVP for a few days for a skill.

Or just port around Cyrodiil to the various keeps. Do a run around the boundary and check wall statuses. You'll be surprised how many wall sections are not at 100%.

Whilst i agree with your sentiment, I don't think that actual logic helps anyone. Just because you were made to suffer, shouldn't mean we should want others to suffer extreme boredom obtaining that gear. You shouldn't have needed to run that boring content, there should have been a PvP alternative open to you and others for obtaining that gear. Just like there should be a PvE alternative method to obtain PvP gear/items/skills.

I seriously don't get why people complain about the grind obtaining certain skills and items, then in the same breath tell others that they should just accept that very same grind just because they eventually got the gear themselves. It's either or. It's this general acceptance that makes ZoS put these *** grinds in. Because we the player base actually argue in favour of keeping them. It's us that demand these laborious grinds remain in-game and never change.

In other words, you couldn't have found it that boring if you're telling others to get over themselves.

OP, most important thing is to get AP buff, so called "blessing of war". Go to any Cyrodiil delve and kill a boss. It will give you AP boost for an hour. Repeat every hour.

I was surprised how many ppl don't know about this.

Yeah it is a pain. And it is not just vigor, but Warhorn and Rapid maneuvers as well. I echo the techniques outlined above, but I can't agree with the expected timetable. It is a long, annoying grind and not done by a normal person in "four hours". I put together a PvP healing "suit" that I just pass to any new character to get the skills. The idea is 1-be as un-killable as possible and 2-allow for healing even on a character with 0 attributes in magicka.

I think it's a good thing you have to do some PVP to get certain skills. Too many people "hate" PVP without even trying it. If you don't like it by the time you have vigor, fair enough, you don't have to go back.

First of all, even doing an introduction quest when you get in Cyrodiil net you enough AP to unlock rapid maneuver. I strongly suggest every single player to do so asap, possibly when he reach lvl 10 and get invitation to AvA.

Second, picking a right campaign with huge population will mean more AP for sure. On PC EU servers, 2 campaigns are pretty much 3 way locked - Azura and Trueflame. With a AP buff, one could get vigor in a single day in Cyrodiil, just by being in large group that fights another large group. And in these campaigns, there are large battles almost 24/7.

Ways to get AP are numerous. You can fix walls in keeps, especially these in corners are left unfixed quite often, since ppl can't enter keep trough them. You can spam group healing skills when your group is fighting, or attacking enemies from range. Just remember to attack more enemies, your goal is not last hitting them but tagging as much of them as possible.

I had a lvl 10 alt sorcerer, just by spamming fury I got vigor in a single day, even got few last hits. Join a group, try not to die and enjoy the lag as we all do.

It is easier when defending a keep. But when the battle is on the offensive it often goes badly for the non-grouped PvE guy trying to get AP: Get targetted, die, end up far away. Ride back to the battle. Get ganked. Die, end up far away. ride 10 min back to battle. Start healing. Die 60 seconds later. Rinse and repeat.

Play pvp. Learn what you need to do to survive in pvp. Look for open zerg groups and get the hang of playing the map. After a couple of runs, leave the zergs and start looking for a guild group. Join the guild and learn the intricacies of pvp.

Voila, you now love pvp more than pve and play for the sake of playing instead of feeling forced to do so just for unlocking a skill.

But it is simply "forcing" people to play PvP. Alliance War skill line has a lot of useful skills. And that could be fine if you could only use these skills in PvP areas (same as siege weapons). But you can use them in PvE and they are very useful. If you are stamina based then Vigor is your only good option for healing.

I tried PvP and well... it is PvP in name only (although I unlocked all Alliance War skills & some skill points).
The point is this PvP is not even close to be competitive. It is too broken and laggy for that (at lest for now). It is just 2 large groups (or 3 sometimes) ruining around in 700 - 999 ping lag storm hoping the anther side will have more lag. There is maybe like 1- 7 % player skill involved. Just go and spam 1 - 2 skills till either you will die or you will kill someone.

Most people I know play PvP only to get those 49 skill points. And it is just enormous grinding time. And what happens when they get those points ? The just don't play PvP any more... and that is sad because PvP in eso has a lot of potential.

I hope that ZOS will make someday a complete overhaul to PvP in Ciridil. The are some good ides for that. Either smaller maps with less castles (10 for example and not 17) or just different PvP game modes - like attack/defend castle etc.
There are many ways it could be fixed.

the last character I got Vigor on was a tank and I got it in under 5 hours without ever even taking a swing at another player. Just repair walls and get a couple D-ticks

PvPers are a bit bitter because they have reduced the grind for Vigor several times now and have done nothing to reduce the grind for Undaunted passives or drop sets. The rework of the Assault line skill progression, the constant reductions in the AP needed to unlock it and the doubling of AP earned have all GREATLY reduced the grind for Vigor. What have they done for the more time consuming grind for Undaunted? It is hard not to feel slighted when they seem to bend over backwards to appease the PvEers while completely ignoring Cyrodil for most of the game's life.
Just fix the lag and more than half of the PvP QQ threads would go away
