Ive been playing since beta and i dont understand whats going on with the devs, i really dont. Every time a new update come out they just change and modify the skills we have without giving us more options for builds. The time spent on changing skills could be put to use on giving us more ways to create different builds. The game have been going through alot of changes, i get it. How many times can you kill an Npc or another person with the same skills before it gets old. Ive been very supportive of this game since day one but i have lost most of my confidence in the devs to make the right decisions for the longevity of this game. Just my two cents.

There will always be a most powerful build and set up which people will gravitate towards, no matter how many quirky skills there are.

There will always be a meta in all games but just having the option to try different things is what keeps people playing longer. You get more of a since of enjoyment instead of the same ol same ol

I'm expecting at some point, the class ability tree cap of 50 will go up to 60 or 70 or whatever and they'll add a few more actives, passives and another ultimate to increase our choices. They would probably do just one tree of each of the 4 classes at one time to attempt to balance them easier. They could do the same for weapons and armor trees. Anything really. The design team at this moment prefers to tweak the abilities they have instead of adding new ones so they may need to rotate through employees a few more times before they change up their approach.

Nope. The only new skills I can recall being added to the game have been in the AvA lines, and that was once. Some skills have obviously changed.

Notmallly when a game has raised the level cap skills are added. It is seems in other games it is the justification for raising the level cap, but Zos raises the level cap just because they feel like it and nothing more, and they have done that three times.

But it will still be the same ol same ol. People will still gravitate towards the meta. 2 or 3 more skills aren't gonna do much; people will just ignore them if they're bad, or drop the old skills and use the news ones if they're good.

They can't even balance the skills we got, and you want more?

It would be nice with more skills and morphs for sure, but until they can fix the ones we have im not seeing it sadly.

Do you REALLY know how an RPG works?

Basically, the very first step, the one that can take A LOT of time is the character/race/class creation because you have to think very thoroughly the aspects because you won't change it.

ZOS failed in this step a long time ago and this is why balancing is needed (and badly done again >.<), but changing the classes skills should not exist.

    They are what they are!

Or even better, add one more skill slot to our ability bars.

Instead of another skill bar, they can increase slotted abilities from 5 to 8 per bar, which would require getting used to though.

Didn't say entire bar, just a slot. One would suffice.

That would be great its so hard to use different skills especially because of those toggle skills that go away as soon as you swap to the other bar. If you are a sorc that likes pets you already need 2 slots on each bar for those.

Lol so you telling me that you are happy with them rehashing the same skills over and over?? Lol balancing??? Lol lets make this clear, how many years will it take for them to balance this game, 2 or 3 more, will you be satisfied with the same skills that we have??? I bet you want more item sets lol they cant balance them but yet in still they keep adding more of them (proc sets) so stop it with the"they can't balance the ones they have already" thats getting old after going on 3 years of the same skills, its time for new skills plain and simple. I bet we all got the same 5 skills on each of your bars for the last 2 and half years. Stop taking up for ZOS

I do wonder sometimes if people on these forums are just wanting to complain all the time with nothing else to do and a grand sense of entitlement.

Name me one, just one, MMO that has balanced classes and no fotm

I keep hoping they might do something along the lines of my old suggestion: https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/240186/class-morph-idea/p1

    YES!
    Definitely!
Because they will never ever completely balance anything.
Balance tweaks also are nice, but not something that can draw and hold interest...
...whereas new skills will get me for one all excited and wanting to grab them, max and morph them, and try out the new!

Without some excitement, something new to play with... people may wander off to some other game. No matter how much you balance what is there.
    So, bring on the new.
    New class skills: https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/240186/class-morph-idea/p1
    New weapon skills: https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/259011/additional-weapon-skill-ideas/p1
    New guild fun: https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/306759/additional-guild-ideas
...something in that direction, anyhow. Something nifty and new. Something to get us all excited again about how we are gonna tweak our characters next!

We have to wonder how much ability ZoS has to fix the game. Different problems require different levels of talent:

    1) engine fixes, like lag, are probably beyond what ZoS can do. The game engine they use is probably the most complicated piece of the whole thing, and it seems like ZoS can do little to make any major changes here.

    2) New major skills and classes is also pretty hard to do. They require the thought to create the skills, and then lots of animation work and graphics work, along with balancing work.

    3) new areas and quests are quite a bit easier to do, and may not require much coding at all. If they have a scenario editor, it might not need any coding talent to create a new area with new quests. Just graphics and storyline editing skills. The creativity needed to make interesting new areas with good quests is not to be under-estimated, but it is not in the same league as an engine change, for example. It's a totally different skill set.

    4) tweaks of existing skills, items, etc, is fairly easy, and may only need some table value changes. We see ZoS do this a lot.

    5) Crown store and crates are by far the easiest to do, and probably also by far the most lucrative. So we've seen a flurry of activity here.

The housing system is a stand-alone editor not connected to the game, so that is yet again a different skill set requiring far less talent than the engine.

Very true. The only way to balance classes in an MMO is to have only one class. Then if your weak it's clearly because your doing it wrong.

No, not advocating abandoning classes in ESO. Would be worst idea ever.
