Where is Neloth?

I did not play Morrowind. I did play Oblivion and Skyrim. But I know Neloth thru Skyrim only. I do not know where TESO is at in history but I gather we have gone back in time? Anyway, question stands. Where is Neloth now?

Neloth? Well this is about 700 years before he was born.

Yeah, Neloth was in Morrowind, which is in the late 3rd era. And then Skyrim, which is the 4th era. ESO is in the 2nd era. TES shows the timeline as a number followed by an E and then followed by another number. So 2E 582 would be the 2nd era and the year 582 within this era, or the 6th century.

I'll just say that we have absolutely no idea.

I'd tell you all about the ESO lore and where it stands in the ES universe timeline, but I'm way too tired for that.

Instead, I would like to ask you to Google the ESO timeline and read up on the ESO lore yourself. It is quite a simple-yet-extremely-valuable skill to have, Googling things. Bing also works.

As for Neloth, I have absolutely no clue, due to there being no documentation on him in ESO. The upcoming Vvardenfell expansion/DLC might feature him; who knows?

Neloth most certainly is not alive yet during this time period. He wasn't "old" during either morrowind or Skyrim, and the natural lifespan of a Dunmer is 1k years old. On the same token, he refers to a 100 year-old as a "child," so he's far from a young man, as well. With a 949 year gap between ESo and Skyrim, Neloth would have to be near the end of his life in Skyrim to show up in ESO.

Diavyth Fyr, on the other hand...

1000 years is exceptionally old for a Dunmer as well. 200-300 years would likely be considered old for them. The ones who live much longer do so by magical means, like Divayth Fyr - which we'll probably see in the Vvardenfell DLC. His home is certainly visible on the recently datamined map.

As for Neloth, as has been said, he probably hasn't been born yet. IIRC he was the youngest council member of house Telvanni in Morrowind.
Alandrol Sul: He's making another Numidium?!?
Vivec: Worse, buddy. They're buying it.

i remember in dialog reading about Master Neloth, and he mentioned that he would not speak to anyone that was less than 500 years of age.
he was a Master at Great House Telvanni Commanding in his Tel Naga Upper Tower,

    MW-npc-Neloth.jpg

he sent me on a Task to retrieve Drake's Pride Robe from a poor servant in Tel Aruhn. and i did infact Keep that robe and later had to kill him for his aproval to allow me to become Archmagister of Great house telvanni

i am under the impresion [if i remember correctly] from my studies a while ago that morrowind was 308 years after the time of elderscrolls online. and if it was true that Master Neloth was older than 500 years of age then Yes he would be alive during our timeline in eso, but that is mere speculation and i do not remember how i arrived at the timeline i once had laid out.

in addition to what i mentioned earlier, i found this quote from him that he made while your on the quest for drakes pride,

    QUOTE:

    Drake's Pride:

"At the present time, Senise Thindo wears the Robe of Drake's Pride. She is a servant of Master Gothren in Tel Aruhn and a mere child of two hundred years. She does not deserve the robe. Correct this injustice and bring the robe to me, as clearly I deserve the robe far more than she does."

    END QUOTE:

Here we see that he did not favor those of only a few hundred years of age.

    ESO starts in 2E 582.
The second era ends after 2E 896
    TES:Morrowind happens in 3E 427

Sooo...741 years or so between us in ESO and when we first meet him in TES:Morrowind?

And yeah, usually dunmer live 200-300 years - unless they are wizards and use some magical means to lengthen that lifespan. Which from his dialouge and latter appearances, Neloth certainly did (though he nowhere is near the master of that sort of thing, the already mentioned Divayth Fyr).

Of course, chances are, he will be born somewhen in the seven-and-a-half centuries between ESO-now and TES:Morrowind-then.

But who knows? It is also possible we might meet him as teenager apprentice in ESO, and smirk at knowing what fate has in store for him, yes?

    He's TES' Methuselah >.<

I wouldn't be surprised if he's still alive in later titles...

i watched your video presentation, but he is not answering the initial question.
i wonder if we will ever know the truth about this.

Well since we cant go to Sadrith Mora yet this question cant be answered. I mean he and Divath Fyr are two of the greatest wizards of Morrowind. We got to meet Vanus Galerion in this game. And also got to see Gaiden Shinjis final moments. I get the feeling both of those Dunmer could have a cameo in here somewhere...
