End of Craglorn's Main Quest Line

If you haven't completed the main quest line, I suggest you don't continue reading this post.

So, I've just completed the last two main Craglorn quests I had: The Shattered and the Lost & The Corrupted Stone. I've also got the achievements: Craglorn Completist, Celestial Investigator and Serpents and Secrets.

Is that now the end of the Craglorn main quest line, or have I missed something?

Is saving the Apex Stones it? Is there no actual final showdown with the Serpent itself?

If that is really the end of the Craglorn main quest line - it was very anticlimactic. No title, no dye, no trophy, no prolonged final dialogue, no nothing.

Reminds me of the early days when completing Cadwell's Gold only awarded you with a blue item. There needs to be a change in my opinion to reflect the story and work that goes into completing Craglorn's main quest line.

There are trials in Craglorn. Complete them and you will get your dyes, titles and even a final monolog from the serpent himself.

Ah fair enough. Although, I still think there should be a bit more of an exciting end for those who completed the quest line itself (minus the trials).

The end of the main quest line is the quest that rewards you with a nirnhoned item. I can't remember the name of it but I thought there was some dialogue so maybe you have got something left to do or my memory is failing me.

The final showdown with the serpent is in one of the trials.

Yup, like it has been said before the story finishes properly in the trial.

I think you are missing something. Have you done the Missing Guardian quest?

The quest line also continues in Upper Craglorn (the Serpents and Secrets achievement).

Yes, I received the item with the Nirnhoned trait, and I've completed the Missing Guardian quest.

If the story properly comes to an end via the trials, then I guess that's somewhat acceptable. It's just when I finished the ("soloable") part of the main quest line, it just ended. And gave me no indication that it would continue elsewhere.

Thanks for your responses though guys, appreciated!

Yep the proper ending actually is in the trials. Like you get a quest at some point which leads you to the two trials for The Mage and the Warrior. Similarly at the end of the Upper Craglorn quest line the final bit is in Sanctum Ophidia for the Serpernt

I'm not sure where the quest givers are for the trials. When I completed the solo part of the main quest line, I wasn't given anything else.

Also, is there any recommended CP for the trials?

When you complete the lower craglorn quests i think there are some quest givers in the Observatory which point you towards the two trials, but you can also pick up the quest inside the trials themselves. The Sanctum Ophidia quest can also be picked up inside the trial.

As for CP it depends on if you do it normal or vet mode. Normal modes can easily be completed even by well coordinated pugs but might need some practice. Vet versions will require a lot of training and proper gear and knowledge of your character's skills and rotation

There are two questlines in Craglorn, the bottom half, led by The Thief and the Stargazers, that tells what introduces The Serpent and his plan to subjugate the Constellations and the upper half that... I won't tell since looks you haven't done yet, which is led by Regent Cassipia and his apprentice Little Leaf.

Both stories are awesome, but the huge nerf Craglorn took in order to become soloable took away part of the fun (the last fight used to be pretty tough even in group)

I have done all the quests you've set out. I guess because of the nerf it didn't feel as epic soloing it!

It may have felt anticlimactic because you didn't do them in the intended order. The Shattered and the Lost and The Corrupted Stone are intended to be done before The Missing Guardian. The chronological end of the questline is with Dawn of the Exalted Viper and The Time-Lost Warrior.

^This, when they cut those two out of the required questline they really screwed with things. :\ The information they contain is HIGHLY relevant to The Missing Guardian, which in turn is arguably one of the best plot twists in the game...but without that information it loses a lot of impact, because you have no way of knowing what the characters are babbling about throughout the dungeon.

The Missing Guardian is the one that's specifically about the Thief's Apex Stone, right? It's odd that you no longer need to know the importance of Apex Stones before doing that.

No, that one does actually come last, so you're fine.
