I've always ran into "walls" with this activity and I'm very pleased to have it complete on my main (MagNB). My rewards were a Sword & Shield but I wasn't really expecting anything special for my first run. I would also like to wish the best of luck to anyone else struggling.
On a side note, how much harder is it on a MagDK? I'd like to get the title for her too.

✭✭✭✭✭Congratulations on your clear, and honestly? Clearing VMA with a MagDK (in its current form) was the by far the hardest clear I've had of VMA. Especially when compared to MagNB, MagSorc, and MagPlar. I'd personally avoid it, until you have more VMA clears under your belt. Then go for it, if you want a true challenge.0 -

Especially when compared to MagNB, MagSorc, and MagPlar. I'd personally avoid it, until you have more VMA clears under your belt. Then go for it, if you want a true challenge.

Not going to lie, the MagDK was pretty hard mode without the Maelstrom Inferno Staff and other gear pieces to make things easier/smoother (e.g. 3x Infallible Mage/Moondancer, Maelstrom weapon(s), gold enchantments, etc.).
If you compare it to the other classes, it certainly is hardest by far (magicka-wise). Templars have constant damage while healing, as does Nightblades. Sorcerers have shields to rely on, and a reasonable about of healing (although the shields are pretty much the "safety net"). And Dragonknights... Well... They have good damage-over-time, and Burning Embers is cool and all as a burst heal... And I suppose Scales is incredibly helpful in most situations... But. . . None of that can really compare to what the other classes have to offer. And this is coming from someone who's secondary is a MagDK, and a main that's a MagSorc.0 -

This. Put on 5 infallible aether, 5 sergeants mail and a sharpened vMA lightning (sharpened vMA resto on back) and you can leftclick your way to the leaderboards (currently at rank 58 on PC EU). I main a templar and cleared vmsa on this character first. It was hard.
Then I leveled a magicka dk, got to stage 7 first try without dying. It's so much smoother.
Maybe with homestead changes templars will have better resource management or I will stick to lich.EU - PC - Ebonheart Pact

Actually you are wrong about stamina NB being easy. Stamina Nightblade are hardest for a first timer with the least healing and defense. Stamplar got Jabs which can control and kill adds better. The reason stamina NB get higher scores is of because more burst, Minor Berserk and Major Fracture availability.0 -

Completed it today on my magDK and I'd have to agree that it was a lot harder! Stages 7 to 9 were a real strain.
I ran 5 piece elemental succession, 2 piece ilambris, 3 piece willpower, random sharp lightning staff (until I get maelstrom).
I tried 5 bsw, 2 piece grothdarr, 3 piece willpower, random sharp inferno staff but found myself having sustain issues with trying to heavy attack the staff and getting interrupted.
Next magSorc I guess. I'm thinking much easier than magDK.
