So this dang automaton shield

After 3 weeks of grinding darkshade ( heavily ) i have yet to come across a automaton shield .

Can someone just confirm if it has ever dropped for them?

Hope its not bugged to where it dont drop i need this piece to finish my set

It drops but I farmed it for three weeks and never got a single 1hand of any trait or a second ring

and you should know that the chance of getting a good trait on it could cause you to rethink life choices.

It dropped for me twice. I only run support healers with dw and resto/destro

Since I don't use a sword and board character, I deconstruct all shields, only recently it came to me that I should be selling them instead Yes only after I deconstructed a lot of nice trait shields.
Anyway I've learn that in ESO the more you want that one specific item, the less likely you'll find it even when farming. These days I keep doing random farms until I have all the needed items, takes much longer but much less swearing at bad drops and much less frustration.

Automaton and Viper RNG is too low... i farmed for like 8 days straight 20-30 runs per day veteran and 10-20 normal so i just quit the farming...

Learn chest locations in the dungeon - can drop from every chest but from a bigger table but will up your chances a bit. Also helps with the cp treasure passive.

it exists. I have 3. What I can not get is a damn Sharpened 1H weapon. Plenty of Sharpened resto and desto staffs (neither one should even exist), training bows and powered 2H weapons. RNG does nothing but frustrate players and it is an easy out for devs. RNG= Rewards you'll Never Get

Shields count as weapons for drop/loot tables.

HOWEVER!
Unlike 1H, Destro Staves, and 2H weapons. There is only one flavor of shield available.
This means you are...

1/4th as likely to get a shield as a 1H
1/3rd as likely to get a shield as a destruction staff or 2h weapon.
Equally likely to get a shield as a bow or restoration staff.

Basically, shield drops are rare as balls. Which sucks for tanks looking for a good shield.

Weapons (including shields) drops are insanely crazy random. I hope someday ZOS do something about it because you need to farm +100hours to get a weapon from the group dungeons sets.

Well in group dungeons the only drops you can get weapons are named drops, or from the final boss (which compete with jewlery)

So yes, crazy random/rare.

I have grinded Darkshade for quite some time, and have only got a crappy one hand axe (Decisive booooo!).

It's good to know the shield does exist.

It's bound tho unless ur in a group so keep deconing

I haven't seen it but I have seen almost every other piece in differing traits so it'll drop just may take a while but ask the group always and run with a full group to increase chances

Got impent one after did like 10 times. I got mine from Dark Shade 2.

forget trying to farm the dungeons sets solo... it is just a massive time sink that you may or may not ever yield any results.

My recommendation... get atleast ONE person to join you. I have a couple friends that I have swapped dungeons with... we do the dungeon I want... then we do the dungeon they want...

I have gotten a lot better results from farming this way with a buddy or two.

As for the shield... I got it as Divines so it does drop.

I WISHHHHH i can purchase it.

But then again i do wanna feel like im a rare build knowing not many people will do what i do.
