Xbox One Controller on PC (map issue)

I've recently started using an Xbox One controller on the PC (no trolling please lol!). Anyway, every time I access the map, it automatically starts zooming out. At certain times I have to hold down RT as soon as I access the map to prevent it from zooming out completely into another level/layer.

Has anyone else experienced this issue? And if so, any solutions?

Thanks in advance.

I used to have the same issue with the normal XBox One controller. To make it stop, you do what it is trying to do manually. For example, if it is zooming out, just zoom out with it, and the other way around if it is zooming in. Then, it stops.

I then started using the Elite controller and it never happened. I think it has something to do with the triggers' range.

Give it a go. I hope this helps.

Go into the controller settings in your devices and printers and recalibrate the controller.

    First question:

Are you using the gamepad UI or the default PC UI with the gamepad.

    Second question:

Did yo do a controller update prior to trying to use it? This is required and is done via USB

    Now:
Assuming it's the gamepad the above suggestion may help but understand why. The Xbox one controllers are of poor quality therefore the thumb sticks and trigger depending on use, drift or cause response when you intend on being static.

I do think you should at least observe what the PC considers a button press and or center in the PC settings (not the game settings)

Then adjust and test and adjust and test until you're happy.

Have I experienced it. Yes, I also now have purchased an elite controller but that's not a logical solution as it can also drift.

Thank you for your responses guys!

Sadly, I'm still having the same issue. It's probably my controller. I think I'll have to get myself an elite one at some point.

As crazy as this sounds. Don't. Ur better off just waiting as Xbox seems to release a new rendition of the X1 gamepad every 6 months.

Just so you know, you are far from alone in using a controller on PC! I couldn't play any other way. Hopefully you got your issue fixed. I recently bought a new Xbox controller that uses Bluetooth. I had to install the Xbox app on my Win 10 PC to get it to work properly. Just throwing this out there as something to try.

Whatever floats your boat. My controller is gathering dust on the shelf. I played with it sitting on the couch a few times while playing ESO on my TV (from PC), never bothered since - I can't game on a sofa, feels unnatural to me and I can't hold both my hands in front of me close to each other to grip it, and the reaction times with the controller are way too slow for my liking.
