There are so many thoughts flying through my head I am going to attempt to compartmentalize them all so this isn't TLDR. I fear I will be unable to acquiesce to my own criteria, but here goes:
1) When we say "balance" we mean balance between stam and mag OR balance between races OR balance between the diff types of CCs ppl use - what the heck do you consider balance?
2) Why does it seem continuously like you are forcing us to go Stam when some of us actually enjoy mag? I have 3 stam blades, 1 stam sorc... I use them all for PVP because they dominate and are much easier to use 1vX. But I actually ENJOY playing mag more and wish I could solo my magplar or magblade (without it being a bomb blade) in PVP.
3) Proc set issues were never about the crit... It was about the simultaneous hit of stacking proc hits causing an epic burst that couldn't be identified until post mortem... Listen, My stam sorc is specifically a proc build so I am only hurting myself by saying this, but I believe in versatility - This crit nerf will be utterly useless in PVP and will absolutely ruin PVE Please re-think these changes. I submit a better adjustment would be to limit the amount of simultaneous procs... Say limit it to "you can only have two proc damages at one time." Boom. No need to make it a DOT, no need to nerf crits, just a simple elegant tweak that won't have earth shattering ramifications.
4) Why are mag chars forced to use Eye of the Storm. Hey, Destro staff is fun and all... But I enjoy being able to dual wield. I like having options. I like being unpredictable. Its more fun in PVP going up against unpredictable enemies as well. It makes the game more enjoyable and dynamic! Please explain why you don't share the same outlook on your game?
5) The heavy armor changes have been great. I like that versatility in heavy has been included, but it is very very strong. I am not some genius who has stumbled upon this revelation... It is mentioned all the time in these forums... Why has light and medium armor not been buffed? Why are players able to go into PVP and be literal beast tanks without giving up legit DPS... This is an example of unbalance, no?
I am quite sure there are many other points to be made but those are just off the top of my head. Finally, I would like to say that I started this game off only caring about PVP. I actually found PVE quite boring and the epic journey that was climbing to V 16 seemed insurmountable for a 9-5 working man like myself. I laughed at my poor friends who spent hours upon hours grinding bugs in Deshann and then more hours and days grinding Zombies in the Rift. I instead invested my time playing Blackwater Blade as a lvl 15 Mag Blade and literally only gained experience via kills. It took me months to level up to 50. After that I was even more hooked on PVP. I would not do dailies, I would not do quests, I just wanted to PVP... It was only until ZOS increased the xp gain to get CP and then made the changes so a V16 was 160 CP that I really started dipping my toes into the PVE world... Mainly so I could get the sets I wanted and PVP more. But along the way, I stumbled into some good PVP friends that happened to also enjoy PVE. And with the further changes that one only required me to level up to CP160 once and all my chars who got to Champion level would be "grandfathered" into the same CP level, I actually grinded. Eventually I had 3 stamblades, one magblade, one magplar, and 1 stam sorc all V16s. With all these versatile toons, and having multiple friends that enjoyed PVE as well as PVP, it was inevitable that I then started doing vet dungeons, and then trials. Now, present day I still PVP often, but I also similarly look forward to PVE Trials and other Vet events. I truly have gained an appreciation for the other side of the coin and it disgusts me that ZOS is seemingly changing things to nerf the PVE experience. Hey, I'll go back to my bomb blade, stam blade archer, & stam sorc proc build and have a jolly old time destroying kids in Cyrodiil all while complaining about the epic lag... But I will miss being able to hop on my mag plar and mag blade and run trials, or be able to blast some epic music while running VMA only to be disappointed in the BS rewards.
Zos, I was actually starting to enjoy your game. I enjoyed the ability to make diverse builds that didn't force me to conform to one set or one playstyle. I was having fun engaging in parts of your game that honestly I would never have even considered touching 1.6 years ago when I first started. You made some great improvements since console launch. You were going in the right trajectory. Yes, there are things that never got addressed, yes the lag still stinks, yes the game still isn't balanced and that does make me sad, but nothing is perfect and maybe never will be. The game was fun and I could run things on multiple characters with multiple builds I could find a time and a place to utilize my all light mag builds even in PVP. I was finally in a spot where this game wasn't too much of a grind, offered incentives for me to keep grinding new chars or grinding for diff gear, and the dynamic between having high DPS and dealing with true tanks who can handle attacks from 20 diff people can be fun. Still needs tweaking because those tanks shouldn't be able to output legit DPS as well... but instead you focused on what? Standard of might? Swallow Soul? Removing the CC from spears!? Coagulating Blood confusion? What are you guys thinking? I have zero confidence you even comprehend the issues we post here every day. It is highly frustrating. It is ridiculous that PVE players who complained every day about going into PVP and getting REKT from proc builds now have to suffer a PVE DPS loss all for a fix that will still make PVP a horrid time for those poor fools. What a complete troll. My heart goes out to them. I don't know what your logic in these massive changes are but go back to the drawing board on this one ladies and gents. This makes zero sense to me and I am quite sure I am not the only one.
Thank you for your time and your efforts everyone.
Sincerely,
One Confused AF Gamer.
