ESO and CPU OC

Would help in anything if I would, for example, OC my i5 3570K from 3.8Mhz to 4.5? Would I notice any changes in FPS, loading screens or something?

I heard that in MMOs overclocking CPU is huge boost in your minimum fps especially when theres hundreds of people on screen, since the cpu is used to load people up, gpu is used for spell effects and such.

I wonder you won't notice any changes, maybe small but I'm not so sure, since it's not hardware issue but still the game code.

if you want fast loadings screens buy an SSD. But i wouldnt recommend OC for your cpu i5 @3.8 ghz is more than enough for this game OC would reduce your CPU lifespan and cause more heat if you dont have good heatsink. Game is poorly optimized also if there is a more than 64 players game will be lagged thats how it works nothing to do about it on our side.

    You will notice a change.

Taking my i7-4930k from 3.4GHz stock to 4.5GHz was about a 10-20% FPS gain which given that I play at 4K is pretty large.

Since ESO mostly runs everything through a single CPU core, making that core run faster will lead to performance gains.

ESO is CPU bound and likes the fastest single-core performance you can give it. If you ever monitor the game, there are many times you'll notice the GPU is idling waiting for the CPU to send it geometry data, in these cases you will get a performance boost from an overclock.

So yes, definitely you will notice an improvement due to OCing, but what that increase is depends upon other factors, especially your GPU performance potential. If your GPU is capable of rendering everything the CPU throws at it with no bottleneck, then you will get up to 20% improvement in FPS as that's what your OC is when going from 3.8-4.5GHz.

e.g. I took my Core i7 6800K from 3.6-4.6GHz and I got just over 20% FPS in some cases on my GTX980Ti.

If you can keep the heat down then you may as well overclock, there's really no reason not to. But do note that good FPS does not = less lag. You can be rendering 144FPS but if the game is lagging due to network or server performance issues, you'll just be rapidly rendering lagging frames. There are many points in this game where it's playing badly (laggy) and I look down and my FPS has dropped to around 40FPS, which is still a fairly respectable figure, but the game still plays like a lame duck due to the lag. So, whilst OCing will help you generally, it's not a panacea.

For loading screens, an SSD coupled with more RAM will deliver best performance increase here, as it's not a CPU intensive task.

it is worth it to if your system is stable, in long term it saves so much time on loading screens and overall performance problems

    I've ordered the msi rx 480 8gb, ddr3 16gb 2400Mhz, noctua nh-d15 and I have already a i5 3570K.

I use a Noctua D15 on my Core i7 6800K and get 4.6GHz out of it before heat is an issue, so you will be in a far better place with your 3570K, the 6800K generates a lot more heat due to the core count.

    Nice choice of components :)

I've had Intel and AMD CPUs overclocked, as someone mentioned here the game is CPU bound and likes single core performance. Overclocking the CPU increases significantly the average FPS you will get overall and specially in crowded areas, althought if you are new to overclocking I advice you not to do it.......

BUT IF YOU DO IT.... make sure you have the right PSU and the right cooling system, ask someone that can guide you through the proccess. If you mess up, you will fry your motherboard's components and possibly something else.

If you can't find personal guidance, search here http://www.overclock.net/.

Depending on the motherboard you have, there may be an auto overclock feature that can be a good place to start if it's your first experience with Overclocking.

Oh yeah, it'll help. Not majorly, but you'll gain a few FPS. I keep my i5 4670K OD'd from 3.8GHz to 4.4GHz and it does help with ESO.
