Hey, everyone.
My name is Simon (people might recognize me as @Hyssia in ESO).
I want to apologize for everything I’ve done in my pursuit against Legendary Mage, including rallying our community to question the intentions of Zenimax Online Studios. Everyone involved has been under deception, perhaps excluding Zenimax Online Studios … they were actually quick to figure out the essential part in this story and take action.
It all begins with this picture, which was sent to me from a trusted friend. http://imgur.com/a/OtREa
In this picture, an obvious threat was written. A message threatening with seeking out a player in real life, hinting to ‘punish’ him for past actions ingame .
This is obviously a very serious matter, which should be taken seriously by all parties involved; I was approached by my old friend Dusk, telling me he’s been threatened by the person in the picture. I kept pushing him to report it and for a screenshot, a valid proof (I thought then) to take action and condemn @ LegendaryMage from our own community in the hope that Zenimax would look at his chat logs and take action.
I went far with this; I uploaded a video on YouTube (which has been taken down for obvious reasons) and rallied our very own community to condemn @ LegendaryMage, based on “proof” from a screenshot.
In the following days, 3 players involved in the planning of this video found themselves banned from The Elder Scrolls: Online and their forums. Very unspecific explanations were given from Zenimax Online Studios (mostly in the form of automated answers), which made me feel that the bans were unjust, and that Zenimax Online Studios were trying to silence me.
Things only got more confusing and complicated when a player very close to @ LegendaryMage posted in forums and a little bit of everywhere, claiming/bragging about how me and Dusk had gotten banned for the use of “cheat engines” and rumours were flying about them paying people to report us. Most people who have seen me play throughout the years know very well that I would never use something like that. So with this being spread everywhere it looked even more like I was being framed by a third party, when all I was trying to do was help a friend that had received a serious threat without facing any repercussions. Screenshot: http://imgur.com/a/4qer1
Yesterday a friendly representant from Zenimax Online Studios contacted me over the phone, and after a short call it was agreed that he would call a friend who worked as NPF coach earlier and had agreed to act as autism “translator” and handle the call for me so to speak since I tend to become panicked when forced to deal with people I am not familiar with.
He called her and they talked for a long time and during that talk they came to the conclusion that: *(NPF-coaches text in cursive)
a) the screenshot was indeed faked
b) @Hyssia had been left completely unaware of this on purpose and really thought he was fighting for a just cause, in the defense of a longtime friend.*
During the call she wrote to me and asked me to put pressure on Dusk about the authenticity of the screenshot and the whole case. The answers I got was devastating. Dusk admitted that the screenshot was fabricated and that @ LegendaryMage had never written that threat. Linked miniature to screenshots of the conversation:
@ Duszk fabricated did this screenshot simply for the “fun” in trying to antagonize @ LegendaryMage and pulled me into making that video fully knowing that I would never help him if I knew it was all faked (and fully aware of the fact that I was risking to become banned because of that video). I did not think I would be banned for raising awareness of a serious threat … but then that was not the case was it?
So at the end of the day ..
I learned that my old friend was not a friend at all and to not take screenshots as proof for anything in the future. But most of all I am deeply sorry for having been part of this. The just cause was not just at all.
I apologize to @ LegendaryMage for having helped spread this false information, it must have been horrible for him as an innocent person in this to be accused of threatening other people with real damage. My reaction was completely inappropriate - a huge lapse in judgment on my part - and for that I extend to you and the whole community my sincerest of apologies.
I also apologize to Zenimax Online Studios for unjustly accusing you of neglecting a case, and for potentially damaging your reputation as a company that truly cares about your playerbase.
Lastly I want to apologize to all the people who have supported me in this “fight for the cause” it was my own mistake to fall into the deception of a cruel manipulator, and it pains me that I inadvertently dragged more people into this mess.
Also, thank you Dan for contacting me like you did and thank you A for helping me with the phone call!
I will miss ESO and my guild mates and friends more than most will understand and am sorry that I have to disappoint all of you who want me to come back, but I simply can’t force myself to start over with a new account after all this time. I have put too much effort into it and my chars there. Hey my first real pve achievements is there!
Best wishes,
Simon

Just seen ingame, a yellow ring with requirements lvl60 cp180, what are this? Its certainly in game, but absolutely not usable.
starkerealm wrote: »Yeah... okay, well, I hate to break it to you, but that never happened. I'd believe someone trying to scam zone chat with the item. That's plausible. Like I said earlier, I used to mess with people in Zone using a variant of this gag. But, your guildmate is a kid. I mean that, this is the kind of, "ooh, here's a super secret," that I'd expect from a pre-teen. They took you for a ride. Time to get off.

@penek
Pls provide an image. It is hard to believe a CP180 item is dropping in game already.
If you saw it linked in chat it is not from a real item. Just someone trolling people.

Read the 4th comment . Can't believe people actually think this is serious . I was there , poor guy got reported several times for ''selling fake items'' . This is internet , get used to people who is trolling .
A friend's quote : ''Trolling is my life . I don't eat . I drain the energy of people from internet by trolling them .''
This happened yesterday in EU PC, Craglorn. A player was selling a golden willpower ring in zone chat. It was first level 231 cp180. After several players ridiculed him, he dropped the level to 60, then to 50. He was advertising it "Get ready for cap increase". The player was scamming by using edited links. I am sure he is banned by now.
Editing links to items is easy. Game does not check validity of them. There is a feature "Link item to Chat", which may give a feeling that links point to a real item. But they are not. It is just a description of any such item. The window that opens by clicking such link is just a pretty-print of the same possibly forged link.
Only proof of an item exists in trade window. If you are buying via trade window, place your gold immediately. Then wait for seller to place the items AND accept the trade. Wait at least ten seconds before accepting. Take your time and watch that their acceptance holds. Recheck the items, quantities and all the details in trade window. They are not necessarily the same as advertised in chat because this time it is the real item. If the seller's acceptance resets, be alert. Their acceptance resets because they changed the offer.

So on hearsay you fully believe this happened.
This reminds me of an apology thread I read once.Hyssia wrote via reddit: »

It is not always wise to blindly believe friends even trusted friends.
