Hi
I have started to play the game once more been away for a while and a lot has changed, most of which I like what I see. Thing is my old build on my nightblade which was a hybrid of stam and magicka worked very well. I don't do pvp as I enjoy the pve side of the game far more so please keep this in mind when giving me advice, also I am still leveling and not reached the maximum CP yet.

I would like to know if a hybrid build is still viable as I run dual daggers and bow with a mix of weapon skills and magicka skills for the daggers and bow. I try to build around critical damage for melee and use the nightblade class skills to run some cc on the mobs and lifetap abilities.

Also I have started a new scorer as well which I was looking at dual swords wearing medium armour and a destruction staff with a 50/50 split on magicka and health.

Thing is I am not looking for cookie cutter builds or FOTM types all I wish to know is, are hybrids still a viable option for pve and dungeons?

I know I got my skill points refunded but I spent them before I realised the skills had changed, some old magicka skills now use stamina or have changed completely.

Hybrid builds are not as efficient as stacking 1 resource. The way of the old is left behind. I'd suggest browsing around for some build insight, wouldn't hurt to get an idea of what would might work better for you.

Focus on stamina or magicka. And get the regeneration of the choosen resource up to be able to keep on fighting/healing/tanking. That's better if you want to play in groups.
If you want to play alone (no vet dungeons,...) just choose any playstyle you want.

Here is a good website to search for builds or get some inspiration:

If all you want to do is quest solo, you can make it with hybrid builds, but they are no where near efficient for group stuff. Pretty much only a tank can get away with hybrid resources where survival and utility are more important than damage. Damage dealers should focus mostly on one resource.

From your description, sounds like you should go stamina for your NB. You can use puple food so you have some magicka for your utility spells. Also, even though you don't care for it, you may want to do a little pvp to unlock vigor from the alliance war skill line. It'll replace strife for your self heal since it's a stamina heal. You can get it relatively quick, tag along for some battles, repair walls ect to gain AP.

For the sorc you'll want to go light over medium armor. Medium armor passive are stamina based. Probably go 5 light, 2 heavy. And unless you are looking to tank, 60/40 magicka/health split will give you more than enough health if you feel you need it, but you will get more use out of the bigger magicka pool both for number of casts and damage calculations.

PS, not sure how long you have been away, but many of the damage dealing class skills now have a stamina based morph.

Thank you for the advice here. I couldn't see any stamina based skills on the ESO skill calculator from the nightblade class so I guess its not been updated.

This is why I thought my builds would still be viable when I spent the skill points.

I left the game shortly after Cragmor was released the first DLC because the guild I was in went back to SWTOR. Never did have the heart to look for a new guild. As I am a rp'er at heart I would like to try and find a new rp guild to join. This is something I can do latter on after I have relearned the new mechanics in the game.
