Welcome Back Me -- Launcher slow/problems?

Hello, I'm attempting to return to the game but at the rate the Launcher/Patcher is going it'll be a few days. Is there something wrong with my Launcher? It'll download 50 to 500mb then *apply* what was downloaded for oh... about an hour then download a few more MB's and apply it again for another hour or so. Just hit 3% after three hours now... so is this normal. Maybe Monday I can give this game a retry.
