I would very muck like to know where to purchase any of the soul gems which are empty until they are filled up with a captured soul from the creature/person that I just killed? I did see a mystic vendor in Mistral but was only selling the grand soul gems. IS there a mystic seller in other towns also?

    (I think) since One Tamriel the only applicable soul gems are now Grand Soul gems.

    All the soul gems are now grand after 1T patch. There is a skill in the Soul Magic called Soul Lock that gives you a chance to fill a gem after you kill an enemy.

    What system are you on? I can always mail you a stack if you need.

    As of the last patch there are only grand soul gems, regardless of your level or CP.

    I believe he is specifically asking for empty soul gems. I get them every now and then but to be honest I'm not sure where from. If you need lots of soul gems you can buy filled ones cheap from guild stores.

    Also, don't know if it's because I am farming Bosses for Dropped Set items but I have 1000's of Filled Grand Soul Gems and never really have a lot of empty ones. So, once you play for a while, Filled Soul Gems will not be an issue anymore.

    You can get soul gems from Enchanting writs, seems like every time. Chests are also a good source of soul gems. do a few circuits of starter islands, popping chests, and you should have a good supply free. You start the game with Soul Trap skill and any kill will fill them.

    This is a good skill to have, worth the skill point, but doesn't unlock until Soul Magic level 3, which is at least not until 4th or 5th main quest.

    ...IIRC, after you kill an anemy with a basic (light or heavy) attack... unless that changed. But still, it will allow you to fill your soul gems "en passant"... no worrying about extra skill, just game away, and every so often you'll get a soul gem filled.

    Also, empty soul gems are often found in treasure chests... and since my main is an arvid treasure hunter, I kinda never had to worry about buying those...

    What you are talking about is a passive which must be unlocked. So either way you would need to spend skill point.

    Also I believe templars have a passive that fills soul gems.

    true, but with the soul magic passive, you don't need to worry about the "kill while the soul trap spell effect is still active" thing. How often has that one expired a mere second before the killing blow for some?

    And I do not think Templars have any special passive... though i think I remember there is one item set that does it?
