VMA Leaderboards - Multiple Characters???

Hello,

I've never really noticed this before... not until recently when someone had pointed it out to me that is...

Why is it allowed that 3 people can hold 2-3 spots each on the weekly leaderboards of VMA that is 9 positions out of 100 nearly 10% by 3 players.

I leaderboard sorc/dk and soon NB and will hold 1 spot per class.

I COULD if i wanted to do exactly the same as these people but I WONT.

I'm just curious why this was ever allowed...? I'm also curious if people feel the same way I do.

I can say HONESTLY that if it was 1 STAM Sorc / 1 Magicka Sorc I guess it is what it is... but when I see EXACTLY THE SAME kind of scores I highly doubt this is the case.

These players are good at maelstrom arena so they get rewards. I honestly don't see the problem. Just because they are good with multiple characters and classes they should not receive more rewards? Meh, that's not how life works.

Sorry mate, that's not what I said.

Even I myself leaderboard each class weekly.

What I was saying was, do you think it's fair to make 4 stam sorcs for 4 spots and 4 rewards weekly.

Don't know what to tell you man. Leaderboards have always worked this way. It is just more pronounced in vMA since only 400 total slots are available divided into 4 classes. Realistically, these probably go to less than 200 actual players. I would guess 150 with a week to week variation of maybe 20 individual players being different from one week to the next. I have never gone through and actually determined how many individual players are in an average week but there are many who run through not only a few of the same class but a few more from their other classes. 4-5 total leaderboard spots for one player is not uncommon.

As for the question of more than one slot being held by a player on each board.
1) I don't really see this a much different than more than one slot on different boards. Sure it is easier as you only have to be good at one thing but you might do a stam and mag of the same class and land on the same board and that is a harder bridge to cross than say stam dk vs stam templar which play very much the same but land on different boards.
2) Yes it is misleading to new players to see 400 slots when there are effectively less than 200. Does this matter though? Board size is an arbitrary construct. They could have made the boards 25 deep each to have only 100 total slots or 300 deep each to have the same 1200 as the max for other trials.

In the end I guess I don't have much of an opinion either way. I am only good enough on one toon to make the boards every week so I drop one mag NB there though I could race change my stam NB, run him mag and drop 2. I just don't care enough or want the pain of 2 runs a week. My opinion is that vMA RNG is BS and the leaderboard monopolization of the few is unimportant to me and wouldn't matter if the RNG was fixed. Really leaderboards are supposed to be mostly about bragging rights. The RNG is just so bad in vMA that many load up toons to get 2 for 1 on drops. It is a symptom of a different problem.

All G, was just interested to see peoples thought process.

Like I have 3 sorcs. But I wouldn't go place all 3 on the boards, but that's my personal choice I suppose

I think competitive leaderboards is a good thing. I wish trial leaderboards were more competitive.
