Screwdriver, pliers, hammer...

I don't know where this quote came from originally, but more like it need to be given:
We want to make DK's have a unique playstyle that does not include an execute ability. Instead we want them to focus on pressuing enemy's health bars with DoT effects.

I want more insight like this.

I'm playing a game. The character isn't running around, I am using a character to run around. I can use an altmer mag blade to run around and have great dps success, or I can use a dunmer stamplar to run around with less dps success - it depends on whether I choose the tool that is most appropriate for my intent.

"Play how you want" is often used as a cover for people who choose to use a screwdriver to bang on a nail, instead of using the appropriate tool, and demand the same results from both. "I can play how I want, and they shouldn't punish me for playing an argonian stamina sorc". And in the absence of insights like I have quoted, those people cannot be blamed for the misunderstanding.

Maybe there are plenty of such insights elsewhere. Maybe there are hours of them in the eso live - buried in amongst the rest of the material. Maybe there are pages of such insights on these forums - buried as off hand comments in amongst the reams of natch potes. Maybe they exist, but if so they are so dispersed that they might as well not exist at all.

I want more insights into the intent for a class like the above, gathered together and noticeable for those who have been here a year and also kept noticeable for those who first arrive with questions a year from now.
