What the heck is an AVA Location?

I am so confused!
I've been trying to check out PvP for the first time and I have no idea what I'm doing wrong.
I went to the Alliance War menu and set my home campaign to Trueflame. (At least I think I did.) Now I'm in the Group Finder menu trying to actually queue for it, but it just keeps saying "You must be in an AVA location to queue for Alliance War."
I have searched through all the Help Topics and just spent the last hour trying to Google what this means and I'm still totally lost.
Can anyone tell me what location I need to be in to make this work?

User_Name✭✭✭I experienced the same as you describe and I think it's just bugged/doesn't work.
Just forget about the group finder and type LFG in chat (edit: Zone chat in Cyro) or go solo.
Look for keeps and outposts that are burning on your map and go there.Edited by User_Name on December 29, 2016 3:27PM0 -
bitels✭✭✭✭You need to be in Aliance vs Aliance locations to que for PVP activity. You just need to get in the Cyrodil first

barrrt✭✭✭Alliance vs Alliance, i.e. PVP, i.e. Cyrodiil or Imperial City.
Don't worry about group finder for PVP, most groups are formed with guildies or via zone chat. Just go to Cyrodiil by right clicking on Trueflame and select Enter Campaign (I think that's what the option is). There are a lot of icons on my Cyrodiil map now, but none of them seem to be a Wayshrine.
Last night I tried walking in from Reaper's March but the thing that looked like a door wasn't actually a door.
How do I get to Cyrodiil?1 -

Right clicking on Trueflame from WHICH menu? I have clicked on every piece of text in the Alliance War menu and none of them seem to be an "enter" button...

When you are in alliance war menu (L key), and on Campaigs tab, selecting 30 day standard, it shows Trueflame on the right side. Right-clicking on it gives two options: Enter Campaign and Abandon Campaign.
If it does not, it means you have not yet assigned Trueflame as your home or guest, in which you should get option to select it instead of the above options.

VagabondLife✭✭✭✭Err... NVM I figured it out. I was in the wrong tab, and also looking under the "Non-Champ" instead of "Standard" options so it didn't show up.
Man what a waste of a whole morning just to get a skill to make my horse go faster...

try the "L" button on PC
choose campaign click then by mouse over
type E and E again
poof you're whisked to Cyrodiil
