What exactly is considered "proc sets" ?

We all are familiar with the proc sets changes that will affect crit on sets like viper, red mountain, kragh, velidreth etc.

I'm wondering if this nerf will affect other proc things as well, like poisoned weapon enchant or the maelstrom bow, Thunderous volley enchant. I noticed on the picture Rich Lambert posted, that endless hail max tic was lower on the non crit test. All though it might be a coincidence that the final hit never did a critical hit on his last test, taking into consideration that the very last tic are the most powerful one.

Well, it's more of a question of what will,ZoS consider a proc set. And then whatgonna be effected. There will be bugs, there always is.

it's not enough data

Every single tick is drawing from the chance to crit independently
So basically, you could have two parses both using crit on proc and see similar results for non-proc skills. Sometimes they will perform better than other times, just depends on if your chance to crit is paying off more often than not, and how it all ties in to resistances, debuffs, etc.

proc sets are any gear set that processes some sort of action. Endless hail doesn't play into this at all unless a set is being used that procs some sort of buff it would benefit from. In this case, it is not.

Kragh's, Viper's and Red Mountain procs are all direct damage based and do not influence Hail at all.

Was going to try vicecannon and sheer venom. Not now. No crit on either. Does this mean the the heals from Vice can't crit either?

I've been reading up on it after coming back to the game not to long ago. Getting that for PvP you either proc-gank or proc tank it seems. My main was a magicka templar so it appears I should be running gear that proc tanks; ie, steals health from others just by being hit. Or I can level up my NB and get 3 different sets that can possibly all fire at once with what appears to be numbers worthy of the hardest hitting abilities in game.

Still trying to figure it out, but if nerfing crit chance is all that is done; I assume it still will be the meta. Will have to wait and see those patch notes.

Looked at the picture again and he's got the hawkeye buff in the crit version but not in the non-crit. Not sure how this affects crit damage for hail specifically but it does affect bow skill damage in general.

I think the better question regarding that picture is on the side with the non-critting procsets, red mountain still had 4% crits

Yeah, it did crit once.

It could be a bug (this is on their internal test server)
it could be a bug with the API sending incorrect data to the addon
it could be a bug with the addon itself

I'm going with the first one, and since this is still something they are working on and testing, I am going to think right now it's of no concern.

yeah you are right, also his max crit chance are higher so the rotation and buffs are not completely the same. Maybe the major force was also on different times. Looks like my maelstrom bow survives another patch
