AP Zone Bags

@ZOS_RichLambert So as a mostly PVPer I am not really excited at all for these zone bags containing overland sets for a few reasons...

First, why do they only contain green and blue items? For purple jewelry I still have to go grind PVE content or go to guild stores.

Second, if I really want overland sets as a PVPer and don't want to grind PVE material to get them, I can find them in guild stores. It is the BOP dungeon/trial sets that should be put in these AP bags to give PVPers an option to obtain these sets through PVP. Since these sets are BOP already it won't affect the economy and harm PVE players, so what would be the downside of dungeon/trial AP bags? OR you could make dungeon/trial sets bind on equip and make everyone happy, but that might make too much sense. ZOS is all about "play how you want" but I do not appreciate being forced to grind PVE content for an indefinite amount of time and rely on horrible RNG so that I can optimally PVP.

PS: Hopefully fixing RNG, especially for BOP weapons was just one of the things left out of the sneak peak patch notes. Also, thank you for the sneak peak patch notes, that was a nice surprise to at least have some new news.

It's another thing to spend AP on, can't really use AP at a guild vendor now can you? Did you miss that part?

Farming jewelry is the easiest thing to farm for. Also, let's not dilute the loot table even further for these bags.

Green and blue because I assume the majority of items farmed are green and blue, on rare occasions a purple might drop, but really, upgrading to purple isn't difficult or time consuming at all.

I caught that part actually, thanks though.

Yea the green/blue thing isn't THAT big a deal, and I understand farming jewelry isn't hard. I just mention it because it seems silly to not include in the AP bags the qualities that you can find in PVE. Make purple drops more rare in the bags like they are in PVE, wouldn't that make the most sense? Whatever though, that is not that big of a deal as I said. How would anything I said further dilute the loot table in the bags though?

These bags do give us another thing to spend AP on, that is true. I'm not saying these bags aren't sort of nice I guess, I just think they don't actually help much with the immense PVE gear grind in this game. I'd like something a bit more meaningful to spend AP on that I can't already easily find with minimal or no PVE play anyway.

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't the notes say "at least green or blue quality" implying that a chance for purple is still possible (at the grace of RNG)?

Edit: Just looked again and it says "will always drop an item of green or blue quality" so I guess it is still pretty vague but OP I think has the proper interpretation.

I have 15m AP saved up. I bet I could spend it all on the Auridon bags and not get 1 Sharpened Elegant staff.

Jewelry would dilute the table more by giving 2 more options for loot from the bags, just like the bags you buy in crops ford for example. I already have plenty of desert rose amulets and rings.... almost every 5 bags I open I get another, you can sell to a trader but they aren't that valuable since they are easy to come by.

I agree that farming overland sets are easy... as long as you can stay awake. It has to be the most mind-numbingly boring grind in this game.

I think that adding the bags is fine, but FFS we need two major game additions to make all these damned RNG bags an acceptable loot delivery method:

    1) TRAIT SOCKETS on gear that allow us to change the traits on gear at will via crafting.

    2. JEWELRY CRAFTING with the ability to upgrade jewelry all the way to yellow quality.

Then ZOS can troll us all they want with Training and Prosperous because we then would have recourse to make the gear better with effort.

I'm guessing that we'll have to wait for the PTS for an answer to that.

I don't think this is much of a problem because none of the purple jewelry for the overland sets is particularly rare or expensive since they drop 100% of the time from dolmens. It is really only the sharpened weapons that are hard to come across.
