No Proc Pve Crit

Is everyone actually ok with this? I just farmed llambris all weekend to get my set ready. Now I know it won't crit ever again in pve. I am slightly irritated that I farmed all Christmas weekend for this set not thinking it needed adjusting because of PVP uselessness. Even though this hasn't been changed yet can we revert this in PVE?

I don't see a problem, I will still do my tooltip damage rather than potentially critical hitting with my monster set. If it was an overall damage blanket nerf then that would be a problem but to get rid of critical chance on a proc set I believe is fair and much needed because they already do high damage anyway.

Addition: I still wish this was only pertaining to PvP especially for DoT sets that I use in PvE such as Alkosh for tanking

    My signature. Please.

I'm sorry that the set you just farmed is probably going to eat a nerf. However, it just means that you'll need to adjust some things. You should still do decent damage with Ilambris even without crits. It might, however, not be absolutely BIS anymore.

    C'est la vie.

    I'm fine with it.

Most DPS should come from the build and skill, not from free damage off a piece of gear. Losing crit on a proc is not the end of the world

After all, we got by in PVE with out procs or proc crits for a long time, just fine.

It isn't even going to help very much with burst in pvp, so I don't know what they think they're helping. The burst potential is way higher than most players' health, so one-shots will still be a thing.

And normally I'm ok with that. But damn all weekend 6 keys per character per day 10 characters I spent all weekend ( 4 days) getting my sets together for crit damage. All for a waste. Feel like I got ZOS as my secret Santa and got coal.

You're still getting crit damage off your skills and L/H attacks, all you're missing is (in the grand scheme of things) a small % of DPS based off a single hit of damage that you have no control over (except Tumorscale) in the first place.

I don't mean to be mean here but if your entire build is relying off the crit from a damage proc, then you're doing something wrong.

This won't fix PvP at all. You can still stack Viper, Widowmaker, and Tremorscale and burst down other players without any effort. Just heavy attack, ransack, and be lucky. But for PvE-Dps moster sets will basically become useless for most players.

GG Zos. 5/7, would nerf again.

I like seeing them addressing the high burst in PvP, but I'd still prefer they balance PvE and PvP separately.

It is a much needed change all around. Direct damage procs result in lazy gameplay. I do hope that additional adjustments will be done, thereby giving back importance to classic damage sets like hunding or julianos.

Procs should give additional utility, i.e. defense or sustain and if necessary cc, but not direct damage. That would make it way easier to balance proc sets between pve and pvp.

It is a good first step. Not enough, but a good start.

It's a good step, because now they can balance from the bonus itself, not the crit. So strong sets can stay strong and weaker sets can be bumped up a few percent without amplifying their criticals.

And now they're in a good position to dump prosperous and replace it with a trait that increases set bonus values without those values ballooning from criticals on top of the bonus's bonus.

Id wait until PTS is actually up and people test and do the math before everyone gets out the torches and pitch forks.

At the rate I farmed over my weekend I just bought enough for everyone. So at least we have brand new ones.

Lambert posted this to be informative. Using 3 different proc sets, he lost 7% total ouput. If you are using only one monster set you will likely only lose 2% of your output. It is in no way game breaking as some players are suggesting. You have to be running all proc sets to get a 7% nerf.

Monster sets were just as overpowered in pve as they are in pvp, great change imo.
