Pc very slow AFTER I close the game

I don't have a recent pc (the only problem is that I have a 1Gb GPU), but the game works fine. It does not crash, it has almost no fps drop (I'm not playing with the best setting ofc) and if I minimize the game, the computer is fine too. But when I close the game (ALT+F4 or quit from the menu), the computer becomes very slow, to the point that I have to close my Windows account and open it again to be able to use the pc. I saw that if I don't use the launcher, the performance is a bit better. Can I do something?

open task manager and check eso isn't still running, noticed this myself when using alt+f4 to exit the game.

I already did that, but ESO is not in the Task Manager. The voices are the same before and after the game closure, but for example, now right click menus take a while to appear.

I been experiencing this problem too but luckily the slugging only lasts for about a minute or two at most. The issue seems to stem from when you play the game only and not when you just launch the client nor when you just sit on the character select screen. Only when you are playing in the game world then click on the "quit" option or just ALT+F4 will you occur this issue. I recently found out that when you instead click "log out" then select "back" on the character select screen then click "quit" on the login screen does the issue seem to not occur. I know this thread is a month old but I thought it was important enough to inform @MakTheEater on what I had found on my own. The reason why this is occurring, well I have no clue, I only know that this is a recent problem and not a late one.

    TL:DR
If you want to avoid this problem just "log out" then click "back" on the character select screen then "quit" from the login menu. This issue seems to only occur when you "quit" from inside the game world only.

Process Explorer is worth downloading for your PC it's an extremely powerful tool to show processes even when they aren't showing on your task bar.

It's what I use day to day at work.

9/10 ESO will be sitting in that list with the issue you're describing.
