It's funny because the Rawl'kha rock may simply be an escape for people with enochlophobia (fear of crowds). They might not want to be a part of that nasty, greasy, smelly meat sandwich down there. And it might be the only way to reach the banker without actually standing amidst said meat sandwich. Just a guess, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if that's why some use it. I haven't spent enough time in Reaper's March to know.
I have enochlophobia though and it can be pretty bad, even in video games. It's similar to how arachnophobes feel about spiders in video games. Very similar concept. I don't like being stuck in the middle of a meat sandwich. Euch. So, some uses of the Rawl'kha rock may actually be completely innocent.
Human nature to assume the worst, though, eh?
Edit: Grammar error.
I was thinking the one at Shad Astula, the one you use the totem to jump up onto? EVERYONE always misses the landing at least once.
